Medvescak Zagreb
Monday 02.12.2013, 13:00 • Kuznetsk Metallurgists Sports Palace (capacity: 7,533) • KHL

    Final word -
Weak support from home fans, half-empty Arena and low self-confidence already beat Metallurg before first puck was even dropped. To be fair – Metallurg tried to put on some pressure and Zagreb penalty minutes somehow helped with impression. But when it comes to quality – it was on guest side!
No doubt about the better team today!

Metallurg vs. Medvescak game brings two different aspects to the game and season in every possible manner. Metallurg, home team from Novokuznetsk is struggling with poor results and is currently on the bottom of KHL standings. Mostly Russian players in Metallurg's team are expected to perform better, although their plan sure isn't winning Gagarin Cup at the end of season. They are well aware of their limits, but anyway want to improve on their performances from game to game.
Medvescak is another story. English speaking team is newcomer to the league. Croatian side lacks Croatian born players, but that doesn't stop them to show some great performances on ice. their Arena in Tagreb is constantly sold-out. They were already higher in standings on the West, but 7th place is sure nice for first mid-season. They are probably favorites as far the question of quality stands, but none of teams shouldn't underestimate metallurg on home ice.
