    59:45
A collision knocks Maenpaa down and Jiri Simanek goes in on a breakaway, great save by Koskinen, but it's not going to matter.

    59:13
    Goal for Team Czech Republic!
JAROSLAV HLINKA ices the puck the length of his ice from just in front of his own net. A risky play if he missed the net and went for icing, but it's a goal.

    58:17
    Timeout Finland.

They're pulling the goalie for a 6-on-5 advantage.

    53:35
Martin Sevc is being called for a hold along the boards, so Finland once again to the power play, they're 0/4 so far today but sure came close last time.

    52:05
A couple of great chances for Finland, first Tommi Huhtala with the shot, Kovar the save then JP Hytonen on the rebound and Jakub Kovar makes another save down on the ice.

The puck is then cleared out of play and there's a discussion as to whether it will be a penalty.

    45:28
Jiri Sekac goes in alone, tries to go high glove on Koskinen but misses, Koskinen might have gotten a piece of it.

    42:26
What an enormous save by Kovar! First two saves off the two defencemen, then he absolutely robbed Janne Pesonen at the side of the net with his outstretched leg. Unbelievable!

    42:01
Now the Czechs are going to be two men short as Michal Vondrka got his stick caught under the arm of a Finnish player and is called for hooking. With a 2-man advantage for 1:12, this is a golden chance for Finland to tie this game.

    41:13
The Czechs are going to the power play as Petr Nedved, the hero of the game so far, is going off for hooking. Finns to the power play for the third time.

    37:12
    Goal for Team Czech Republic!
What a rocket into the top corner by PETR NEDVED. Cervenka gave him the pass down low, then he worked up to the hashmarks before unleashing a rocket that beat Koskinen high glove side. Power-play goal. Assist: Roman Cervenka.

    35:34
Krajicek from the point, pad save Koskinen, a scramble in front but a penalty coming to Mikko Maenpaa for holding Petr Nedved in front and taking him down. Czechs to the power play.

    32:06
Excuse the technical difficulties, but some great chances from both teams while we were away. for the Czechs, a shot from the point by Sevc that Koskinen barely got his glove on and Novotny from the slot tried to go five hole but he closed it. For the Finns, Hartikainen shot on a rush and then Jormakka on the rebound, but Jakub Kovar made his nicest saves of the game.

    23:48
Now Tomas Nosek is getting called for charging on the play, possibly for bumping into Koskinen after the whistle, though it didn't look very hard. Finland to the power play.

    23:48
Great chance for Jan Buchtele, tries to go high with a wrister and a great glove save by Mikko Koskinen, then a bit of a premature whistle as the puck came loose. Lucky break for Finland.

    01:53
Czech rush, Kovar drops for Vondrka, his high wrister hits the underside of Koskinen's arm and dribbles just wide.

    00:50
Finland with their best chance of the game so far, Hyotenen dished to Koskiranta, Kovar stopped his low shot and the rebound came out too quick for Janne Personnen to corral and put in.

    19:02
Interesting situation here. On a delayed Czech penalty Mikko Koskinen was on his way to the bench and played the puck after his replacement had jumped on. The officials discussing but this should now be 4-on-4.

Well it's not, in fact Jiri Sekac is getting the only penalty for hooking. I suppose the call was just "premature substitution" against Finland, but if Koskinen plays the puck, that should be too many players.

    14:46
Tommy Huhtala called for tripping in the Czech zone, so the Czechs back to the power play, they're 0/2 so far.

    13:05
Now a steal by Roman Cervenka right in front, tries to go upstairs but misses the far post.

    07:50
And now Tomas Vincour in alone, he never really gets a good handle on the puck though and it's a relatively easy save for Mikko Koskinen.

    01:24
Now the Finns are going to be two men short as Jere Sallinen gets called for tripping Lukas Krajicek in his own end, so 2-man advantage for the Czechs for 1:04.

    00:28
We already have the game's first penalty as Finland has been called for having too many players on the ice. Juuso Puustinen will serve it. Czechs to the power play.

    Derek OBrien
