		This is the second game of the tournament for both these teams. Canada beat Germany 7-2 in their opener, while the Czechs fell 5-1 to the USA. Canada was led by 3 goals from Anthony Mantha and 3 assists from Jonathan Drouin, while the Czechs lone goal came courtesy of Michal Plutnar. Jake Paterson gets his second straight start in goal for Canada, while the Czechs will go with Marek Langhammer of the Red Deer Rebels, in his first start of the tournament.

	03:14	Aaron Ekblad with a wrister from the top of the slot, Marek Langhammer gloves it and hangs on. Ekblad was fantastic for Canada at last summer's U18 Ivan Hlinka Cup.

	09:30	Slapper from Kerby Reichel from the left wing, pad save, then the puck when to the corner and there was a big hit, which drew reaction from the crowd.
	09:52	Finally Langhammer covers with Canada applying pressure.

	15:50	Goal for Team Canada! They had trouble getting the power play going but sure got the pressure on in the late going and cash in with :09 left. 		Shots on goal in the 1st period: Canada 13, Czech Republic 5. An energetic start to this game with lots of physical play, which has this overwhelmingly pro-Canada crowd revved up. The score is 1-1 after a period, but Canada giving the Czechs fits in their own end -- they've taken two penalties trying to keep them at bay, the second one leading to the tying goal. 2nd period starts at 18:25 CET, 12:25 EST.

	22:44	Radek Faksa shoots from the corner, Paterson traps it against his body and holds on.

	24:00	Now the Czechs go back the other way and they go offside too.
	24:12	Matt Dumba is going off for hooking after some sustained Czech pressure, so they go to the power play.
	24:35	Sidlik tries to find Knot going to the net, re-directs it just wide.
	25:14	Canada with a bit of a shorthanded chance as Laughton won a race for the puck and fed Leier, who just missed on the short side. Puck goes out of play and the faceoff is in the neutral zone.

	26:25	Canada back at full strength, Bo Horvat is set up for a big chance but he can't get a handle on the shot, and is angry at himself as he goes to the bench without getting a shot off.

	34:18	Sam Reinhart sends a low shot from the point that almost found its way through the crowd but Langhammer deflected it away.
	34:50	Czechs back the other way, puck fed to Vojtech Tomecek in front but his shot misses high, Paterson might have gotten a piece of it.
	35:15	Now Connor McDavid takes a hooking penalty just after Paterson made a pad save. Czechs to the power play.

	36:03	Now the puck worked to the point to Maritn Prochazka and his slapper is right on Paterson with traffic in front. A lot of battling going on in front of that net. 1:12 left in the Czech power play.
	36:50	Now a pass attempt to the point is deflected away by Josh Anderson and Canada' is able to change up the PK unit.
	37:16	Goal for Team Czech Republic! One second after the penalty ends, they cash in. First Ronald Knot centred it out front and somebody hit the post, then it went back to the point and MICHAL PLUTNAR's shot went just under the crossbar. It seemed to change direction so it might not remain his goal, but for now it is.
	38:31	Now Martin Prochazka is called for holding in his own zone, so Canada to the power play with a chance to tie it before the intermission. They're 1/2 so far.
	38:57	The puck is covered up deep in the Canadian zone, faceoff outside.
	39:14	Canada go up ice quickly and we end up with a big pile up in the crease, some people start celebrating but it's no goal.
	39:14	We're now going to video replay, apparently. But the verdict is back quickly -- no goal.
	39:14	Also, Canada's Matt Dumba is getting a roughing penalty on the play, so their power play is over and we'll probably finish the period 4-on-4.
	40:00	2nd period finished.
		We've got some pushing and shoving after the whistle, as a Canadian player shot the puck after the horn. Captains Laughton and Sidlik are now talking to the referees as the rest of their teams leave for the intermission, so I'm not sure if there's any penalties coming.
		Shots on goal in the 2nd period (and game): Canada 5 (18), Czech Republic 11 (16). The Czechs seem every bit as fired up by this crowd as the Canadians, and thanks to some power plays they were the better team that second period. Of course, you can imagine Canada will come with quite a push in the third period. 3rd period begins at 19:16 CET, 13:16 EST.
	40:00	Michal Plutnar is getting the only penalty on that fracas at the end of the second period for roughing. He was trying to get to Connor McDavid, who had taken a late shot on goal.
		The teams now returning to the ice and the 3rd period will start shortly. Canada will begin the period with a 4-on-3 advantage ... barring no more penalties or goals it will then go to 4-on-4 after :31 and eventually be a 5-on-4.

	42:08	Langhammer makes another save before the Czechs clear the zone to kill off the rest of the penalty. The Czechs re-enter the Canadian zone and Paterson makes a save and freezes.

	44:05	That was a very quick power play as Connor McDavid hooks the stick of Jan Kostalek as he checks him and gets called for hooking.
	44:07	Goal for Team Czech Republic! The Czechs get control right off the draw and VOJTECH TOMECEK deflects it through the legs of Paterson to put the Czechs back in front.

	52:10	Pumped by that shorthanded goal, Canada now doing an effective job of killing the penalty.

	52:45	Goal for Team Czech Republic! They answer right back again. There's no clear winner of the draw but it's fed back to the point to PETR VRANA, who fires an absolute rocket high to the stick side on Paterson. Power-play goal.
	53:01	Goal for Team Canada! This is just insanity now. :16 after the Czechs score, th Canadians tie it right back up. After the initial drive is stopped the puck is fed back to CHARLES HUDON, who blasts it in.
	53:13	Offside Czech Republic. And we've got the wave going now inside the Isstadion.
	53:23	Now off the draw Curtis Lazar drives hard to the net with the puck and crashes into Czech goalie Marek Langhammer is down. The training staff is tending to him. There doesn't appear to be any penalty on the play.

	54:24	A Czech clearing attempt goes out of play but the linesman emphatically emphasises that it hit the top of the glass, so no penalty but faceoff inside.

		What an absolutely wild third period . . . words can't describe it in the little time I have. Just go back and read it. Each of these teams get 1 point in the Group A standings and they'll now play for a 2nd. First we'll have 5 minutes of 4-on-4 sudden-death overtime. If nobody scores, a shootout. 		After a frantic pace to start, the last 3:08 of OT went by without interruption, so we're still tied and a shootout is coming up -- the first one of this World Junior Championship.

		Drouin goes to the backhand and beats Langhammer over the glove, 1-0 Canada.
		Ondrej Kase tries to beat Paterson five-hole but he closes it, 1-0 Canada after 1 round.
		Nick Petan ties to go low but Langhammer makes a stick save, still 1-0.
		What a brilliant move by David Pastrnak, it looked like he lost control of the puck but regained it and beat Paterson on a forehand deke, 1-1 atfter 2 rounds.
		Next is Connor McDavid, tries to make a move but Langhammer doesn't bite. Still 1-1 and the Czechs have a chance for the win.
		Amazing goal by Dominik Simon with the backhand deke a la Peter Forsberg, and the Czech Republic wins!
		Goal for Team Czech Republic! DOMINIK SIMON scores the shootout winner in spectacular fashion.
