    Sweden have won it, 3-2! And just as I had expected, the game was a real thriller. The Russians couldn't get started and conceded two first period goals from Andreas Johnson and Nick Sorensen, but goals from Alexander Barabanov and Mikhail Grigorenko got them right back in the game. The tournament hosts stole the win though with just over two minutes remaining after a goal from Jacob De La Rose.     The top four teams in the group all advance to the quarterfinals, meaning that Sweden, Finland, Russia and Switzerland have all already made it. Today's games will decide the matchups in the next round, meaning that Russia especially will be trying to finish higher than third.

    Sweden have a perfect record so far this year winning all their first three games, 5-3 against Switzerland, 4-2 against Finland and 10-0 against the beleaguered Norwegians. Russia also made a great start beating Norway 11-0 and Switzerland 7-1, but slipped up yesterday with a 4-1 defeat against Finland.
     
    It's New Year's Eve, but that doesn't mean it's not a perfect day for hockey! Today we have the last round of the group stages of the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championships in Malmo. And I bring to you now the biggest match in Group B. The hosts Sweden faceoff against a fellow hockey superpower Russia, and it's sure to be an absolute thriller.
