    Good evening to all, and welcome to Donetsk for this KHL regular championship between the hosts Donbass and their visitors from Moscow, Spartak. Donbass will be looking to get another home win, whereas Spartak will hope that this game can be a turning point for them.
     
    Donbass sit in a surprising third in the Western Conference with 74 points, and have won four out of their last six games. Spartak on the other hand are in wretched form, having lost seven games in a row coming in to this game and are drifting further away from the playoff zone.
     
    Spartak however did win the first game between these sides this season, 2-1 in Moscow.

    A rather average game came to life in the last few minutes of the third period with those two late Spartak goals, but Maxim Yakutsenia made sure that Donbass weren't to be denied the win! The visitors for their efforts still take a point away however, Donbass get the two. Dmitriy Kagarlitskiy opened up the scoring right at the end of the first period, before at the start of the second Evgeniy Dadonov made it two. Spartak came to life with two very late goals from Pavel Medvedev and Oleg Kvasha, but Yakutsenia was just too good.
