    Japan have run out of time, and in a simply thrilling encounter Russia have just managed to see off Japan by two goals to one! The Russians dominated the first two periods but could only score the one goal from Tatyana Burina, and at the start of the third period Ayaka Toko tied things up. The Japanese really dominated after that but were hit by a killer blow as Alexandra Vafina scored a shorthanded goal to win it for the tournament hosts.
