Latvians started the game in surprising manner as Swiss team was considered favorites for the game. As opening period proceeded things got in what they were expected manner, but Latvians proved to know their job proper. Their great defensive work was awarded with clear net after both first and second period, although they also suffered several shorthanded minutes. Final period looked a little bit pale as both teams took primary care of their own net. latvians showed that they are also capable of nice attacking moves, biut were unfortunate not to beat Anaheim Ducks netminder Jonas Hiller. Almost everybody wasalready ready for OT period when Simon Moser surprised Edgars Masalskis to give Switzerland well deserved win. However, it could have easily go the other way too. (20:21:08)
