Shots on goal: Norway 6 (21) – Finland 11 (39)
3-on-2 rush by the Fins over the left wing, Lars Volden allows a rebound after a hard shot from the left circle by Petri Kontiolla and OLLI MAATTA waits in front of the goalie crease to beat Volden with a back hander into the right corner! 6-1 Finland!
Assisted by Petri Kontiola and Kari Lehtonen.
Well, that 5 on 3 was not as long! After a pass from the left corner in the Finnish third PER-AGE SKRODER fired a one-timer into the right corner from within the left circle! The consolation goal for Norway!
Assisted by Mathis Olimb and Jonas Holos.
Shots on goal: Norway 9 (15) – Finland 15 (28)
It is getting really bitter for Noway! OLLI JOKINEN has a break away and fires the puck from the right circle into the right top corner past the surprised Lars Volden! 5-0 Finland!
Assisted by Sami Salo and Tuomo Ruutu.
A hard blue line shot by Olli Maatta is deflected into the right bottom corner by the stick of LAURI KORPIKOSKI who waited just in front of Volden and who left him no chance at all. Now even the most optimistic Norwegians will most likely stop believing in a comeback.
Assisted by Olli Maatta and Tuomo Ruutu.
The game is almost decided after one period. Let's see how Norway can react after the intermission!
Shots on goal: Norway 6 – Finland 13
Can you believe it??? JORI LEHTERÄ has four (!) Norwegian players around him and tries it with a desperate shot from in front of the blue line and what happens? The puck goes straight into the right top corner! Again Haugen failed to get the glove hand up in time! The Norwegian goalie shakes his head and knows that this was another unnecessary one...
Without assist.
After a Finnish rush led to no goal, the puck stayed in front of the Norwegian net and out of the crowd it was LAURI KORPIKOSKI who reacted first and fired the puck into the left corner from short distance – this time there was nothing to do for Haugen!
Assisted by Oli Jokinen and Olli Maatta.
Sami Vatanen with a pass from inside the neutral zone finds team captain and veteran forward TEEMU SELANNE whose fast shot after crossing the blue line beats Lars Haugen and the puck goes into the right wing just past the glove hand! The shot was hard but didn't look unstoppable...
Assisted by Sami Vatanen and Kari Lehtonen.

Norway became 10th in Vancouver by losing all 4 games, including the quarterfinal qualification against Slovakia (3-4). Since 2006 the Norwegians always played in the IIHF World Championship top division but during the last tournament 2013 they were only 10th.
In the first match of the tournament Norway was able to give Canada a tough fight but still they lost 1-3 in the end on Thursday. For Finland the start was better when they defeated outsiders Austria 8-4 after a complicated start and laying back twice in the first period.
Of course Finland also go as favourites into this match against their Northern European neighbours but it should be a difficult task for them nevertheless!
