    Game over.

    Goal for Team Canada!
    Scorer is DOUGHTY.

Jeff Carter skates the puck out of his own end and feeds Doughty early. Rask plays the give back to Carter a little too hard and Doughty gets his second of the game.

    62:00
Finland has a little something still in the tank. Kukkonen with a nice hit and a good shot on Price ends with a blocker save.

    60:15
Almost a quick ending here as Canada gets a great try on Rask. Bergeron cannot put it in.

    60:01
    Overtime began.

The seeds are now basically set.

    1) Sweden
    2) US
    3) Winner of Canada/Finland
    4) Loser of Canada/Finland
    5) Russia vs. 12) Norway
    6) Switzerland vs. 11) Latvia
    7) Czech Republic vs. 10) Slovakia
    8) Slovenia vs. 9) Austria

Despite controlling the period and outshooting Finland 8 to 2, Canada cannot score. We are going to sudden death overtime.

    60:00
    3rd period finished.

    59:27
Vlasic can almost end it there as he skates in from the left circle with no pressure. The Finnish defender dives for the block and Vlasic tries to pick the glove side. It ricochets high and into the netting above Rask.

    58:30
Finland only focused here on not getting scored on. They seem to have given up offensively. Canada spending a lot of time in the Finland zone this period.

    57:00
Pietrangelo waiting on the doorstep for a deflection chance, but Rask covers. He has saved 22 shots so far with the last save.

    55:30
Canada really turning up the pressure on Finland. The Finns not handling it well and are getting nothing offensively. Only 13 shots this game and two this period.

    54:00
Toews working hard to get to the front of the net. He gives a nice feed to Carter, but he cannot bury the puck. Best offensive series for Canada of the game there.

    52:30
Canada looking a little tired or disinterested on offense. No one skating to the net and some sloppy play in the Finnish zone.

    51:00
Nothing going for either team offensively as they struggle to even get in the offensive zone.

    49:30
Granlund makes a bad decision on a clear attempt scared of taking a hit. It leads to a Kunitz interception and wraparound attempt. No time to be intimidated if you are Finland.

    48:30
Finland looking for the big play with long passes, but Canada gobbling them up. Both teams playing really tight defensively.

    47:00
Finland looking worn down as there are no stoppages in play. Canada trying to get something going off of the boards, but Finland doing well to tie up the Canadian forwards from getting a shot off.

    45:00
Canada gets a good opportunity, but Rask is really playing well.

    43:00
Neither team wants to allow a goal. Tough defensive play leading to a lot of neutral zone play. Who will blink first?

    41:30
Canada comes out and keeps the puck in the Finnish zone early on. Both teams end up with one shot.

    40:01
    Start of 3rd period.

Both teams are back on the ice. Play resumes shortly.

Finland gets only four shots this period, but they make the last one count. An amazing between the legs deflection by Ruutu ties the game up.. Canada had nine shots that period, but Rask holds down the fort. 20 minutes remaining in regulation.

    40:00
    2nd period finished.

    38:00
    Goal for Team Finland!
    Scorer is RUUTU.

What a deflection! Ruutu fights for position in front of Price and catches a slap shot from Jussi Jokinen. He sends the puck between his legs and to the right of Price. The keeper does not have a chance at it and Finland ties it up.

    37:00
Finland looking a little defeated now. Canada is parading in their zone at even strength, but it resembles more of a Canadian power play. On the other end, they are trying unreasonably long passes to get anything offensively.

    35:30
Canada has really taken hold of this game and have stopped any meaningful Finnish offensive. Shots are now 13-10 for Canada--no shots for Finland in the past eight minutes.

    34:00
Selanne with a nice shift on a dump and chase that led to a promising centering pass and a nifty move to put the puck into the zone to prevent an offsides call. No support from the teammates unfortunately and the score holds.

    32:30
Duchene puts a wrist shot on Rask. He holds on well with a nice glove save. The faceoff is to his left after the commercial break.

    31:00
Finland gets a good offensive shift finally, but it did not lead to any shots on Price. They will need to generate a bit of offense when they get these opportunities if they are going to tie it back up.

    29:30
Both teams getting faceoffs in each others zones. Bergeron forces Rask to cover on a quick shot from the goal line.

    28:00
Finland leading in shots 10 to 9. This is impressive defensively for Finland as Canada has been camping out in the Finnish zone for most of the second period.

    27:58
The shot on Rask by Pietrangelo was Canada's first of the second period.

    27:30
Canada now turning the heat up on Finland, attacking with speed on the transition. The Finns just cannot seem to figure out how to get more than a long dump or shot in on Canada.

    26:00
Canada spending a lot of time around Rask and Finland doing all they can to keep the puck on the boards. When they are able to get out on offense, it is time for a line change.

    24:30
Canada is so disciplined on defense that Finland has no choice but to play the dump and chase game. It plays into Canada's hard hitting philosophy. Finland is going to wear down if they cannot figure out how to control the puck entering the Canadian zone.

    23:00
Finland taking a page out of the Canadian playbook as Immonen finishes his check in the Canadian zone.

    21:30
Nothing much going on here early. Both teams trying to generate some offense.

    00:05
Towes wins the draw over Selanne and the final five seconds of the Finland power play expires. Canada is at full strength.

    20:01
    Start of 2nd period.

Second period action is almost underway.

Finland averaged seven goals a game entering this match against a Canadian side that has allowed only one goal in their first two games. Defense is the name of the game so far as Canada holds the one goal lead.

Canada takes the lead 1-0 into the first intermission. Both teams end the period with 8 shots apiece and each team had a minor penalty. The difference in the game is Canada taking advantage of their power play opportunity.

    20:00
    1st period finished.

    19:55
Finland gets three shots on Price, but all from a distance. A great job by Canada on the penalty kill against a potent Finnish side.

Maataa was not bleeding, but he went straight to the locker room. It appears to be an eye injury.

    18:05
Nash catches Maataa in the eye with his stick and he gets a minor for highsticking. Opportunity for Finland to tie it up with the extra man.

    17:08
No goal for Canada again! Toews dives to get a wraparound attempt, but he cannot get an angle on it to send it into the netting. As it goes through the crease, Rask dives on it and it appears he may have knocked it into the net. There was no way to see where the puck was and they call it a save on the review.

Canada may have scored here on a Toews wraparound attempt. The play is under review.

    16:45
Canada lookinbg like the team with the offensive prowess here. Rask is being forced to hold on to the puck as Canada is really frustrating the Finnish attack.

    15:04
Sharp steals a pass from two confused Finnish defenders. He skates hard at Rask and gives the backhand feed to Kunitz between the circles. He lets a one-timer go back across Rask to his glove side, but Rask makes the nice glove save. Almost 2-0 for Team Canada.

    13:44
    Goal for Team Canada!

A power play goal for Doughty! Weber gives Doughty a pass who skates to the top of the right circle and lets a wrister go. The wobbly puck finds the short side of the net over Rask's blocker. Canada with the early lead.

    12:28
Immonen called for interference and Canada gets the first power play of the game.

    11:30
Canada now punishing Finland on the forecheck. Bergeron giving it to two Finnish defenders trying to get things going back the other way. Doughty getting in on the physical action as well.

    09:59
A great chance for Finland. Komarov really trying to poke one past Price on a nice centering feed from Pihlstrom. Price covers the puck under his back and the defenders wrap up Komarov to keep the score even.

    09:50
Canada really controlling the pace of the game so far. They are swarming defensively on Finland and making Rask work on the other end. They are a little short on patience though getting an icing and offsides call in consecutive shifts.

Action will restart after a commercial break.

    08:20
    No goal for Canada!

An interesting play. The puck is knocked on top of the net and Rick Nash knocks it off of the net onto Rask's back and it finds the goal. The goal is disallowed for a highstick.

    07:30
Crosby with a rare, hard check at center ice as Finland tried to get past the Canadian defense. Finland is trying to dump and chase, but they are really getting punished physically for that strategy.

    06:00
Canada keeping up their defensive mastery in this tournament and really punishing the Finnish forwards on the boards when they bring it into the zone.

    04:30
Canada working the puck deep and trying to generate something from behind Rask. Finland doing a good job of tying up anything from a centering pass.

    02:50
Canada controls early along the boards in the Finnish zone, but Finland gets the best chance so far on a deflection try. Price comes up with the save.

    01:30
Finland comes out a little stronger than Canada to start, but no shots on goal for either side yet as the feeling out process begins.

Immonen beats Toews on the faceoff and we are underway.

    00:01
    Game started.

Both teams are finding their way to the ice and the Group B showdown will begin shortly.

Here are the rest of the seeds and quarterfinal qualifier matchups:

    5) Russia vs. 12) Norway
    6) Switzerland vs. 11) Latvia
    7) Czech Republic vs. 10) Slovakia
    8) Slovenia vs. 9) Austria

So, an interesting game....winner can get first seed and the loser goes to the fourth spot.

A game that goes into overtime would give Sweden the first seed, U.S. the second seed, the overtime winner of this match the third seed and the losing side the fourth seed.

If one of these teams win in regulation, due to the goal differential tiebreaker, they would get the first seed. The loser would be the best second place team and get the fourth seed.

The puck drops in a huge matchup between Group B leaders Finland and Canada in 20 minutes. Both teams will have a direct route into the quarterfinals, but the winner of the game will have a much more favorable matchup in the first round.
