    Another great period of hockey behind us, the Finns were up to a strong start, managed to build the lead and will look to hold onto it and maybe score another one to confirm. The USA are doing fine, it did came as a bit of a shock to them, but they will have to go through the final 20 and try to get it to tie. Patrick Kane has had two penalty shots today. but wasn't able to get his team on the board, and is now the all-time leader in penalty shots at the Olympics with 2, both in the same game.

    The period is over and the USA will have the man advantage in the second period as well. A lot of pressure by the USA, and the better impression throughout the first 20 minutes. Despite the shot count being close, the USA were more concrete going on the attack, but the Finns will have to keep an eye on swapping when the Americans are in the zone, it creates confusion at the boards and opens a lot of space for them. Otherwise, the Finns look dangerous on the attack, but can't organize completely to make something of it, while Quick has been outstanding in the first period.

    Will the Americans got enought power to fight off the battle from yesterday, recover and get their stuff together, or will Teemu Selanne, the oldest olympic hockey player this year, walk off into olympic retirement with a medal. We'll find out soon.
     
    The bronze medal game in Sochi 2014 will feature the United States of America and Finland. After suffering losses yesterday by a goal difference, the USA to Canada 1:0 and Finland to Sweden 2:1, they will today battle for the bronze medal.
