Now it's getting extremly bitter for the hard-working Admiral team! Sergei Mozyakin had the puck behind the guest net, left it for JAN KOVAR and the Czech in the second attempt beat Ivannikov from short distance for the 3-1 lead!
Assisted by Sergei Mozyakin.
Admiral had taken over the initiative but Metallurg score and turn the game around completely! Magnitkas top line is working well again! Sergei Mozyakin had a lot of space inside the Admiral third, skated towads the right circle and from there gave a brilliant long cross-pass towards the far post from where DANIS ZARIPOV easily scored from short distance against the chanceless Ivannikov!
Assisted by Sergei Mozyakin and Evgeny Biryukov.
In power play Metallurg tie the game! After a pass from the right circle by Danis Zaripov it first was Rinat Ibragimov who deflected the puck towards the net but was stopped by Ivannikov in the Admiral net. The rebound then came to JAN KOVAR who scored the 1-1 from short distance!
Assisted by Danis Zaripov and Rinat Ibragimov!
This gives Metallurg their first power play.
ALEXEI UGAROV has a lot of space on the right wing, nobody attacks him and then his cross-pass towards the near post is deflected into the right bottom corner by the skates of a defender – 1:0 Admiral in power play!
Assisted by Andrei Nikitenko.

For league newcomers Admiral Vladivostok who joined KHL as expansion team last summer, today will be just another important moment in their short history when they play their first playoff game. Admiral ended the regular season as 8th in Eastern Conference with 78 points in 54 games. They reached the playoffs just in the last matchday when they beat Amur Khabarovsk (4-1) on home ice while their rivals Traktor Chelyabinsk (75 points) lost against Ak Bars Kazan (2-3 SO) but were already without chances as the game in Vladivostok already had ended.
After the Olympic break Metallurg had a difficult start against Vityaz Podolsk (0-2) before beating playoff teams Dynamo Moscow (1-0 SO), Ak Bars Kazan (1-0), Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (4-2). All games were played on home ice.
Admiral also met their last opponents of the regular season at home. They beat Metallurg Novokuznetsk (3-1), Sibir Novosibirsk (3-1) and finally Amur Khabarovsk (4-1) to make the playoffs successfully.
Metallurg's topscorers in the regular season were Sergei Mozyakin (73 pts), Jan Kovar (68 pts) and Danis Zaripov (64 pts). They form an incredibly dangerous line and were the top 3 point leaders in the KHL, the top 3 in assists and Mozyakin was the best goal scorer while Zaripov was 4th and Kovar 5th while goal scorers no 2 and 3 came from another top line – Brandon Bochenski and Nigel Dawes of Barys Astana.
For Admiral the topscorers were Felix Schütz (38 pts in his frst ever KHL season, leading the franchise), Niclas Bergfors (36 pts) and Richard Gynge (19 pts).
Both teams get into the playoffs with a red hot streak. Metallurg of course are the favourites in this Eastern Conference quarterfinal series but who knows what can happen in a best of seven series?
