    There's the final buzzer, and in an enthralling encounter Krasnaya Armiya have beaten Spartak 3-1 to go up in the series 2-1! Ilya Pavlyukov opened up the scoring in the second period for Spartak before the hosts were hit by two quickfire goals from Alexander Timirev and Artem Blazhievskiy. In the third period Spartak had their chances, but Pavel Podluboshnov sealed the deal for Krasnaya Armiya with an empty netter.     The series is tied 1-1 after the first two games, with Spartak taking the opener 3-1 but then being thrashed in the second 7-0.
     
    In the first round Spartak saw off Khimik comfortably 3-0, before they were given a bit more of a test by Energia winning 3-1. They then forced their way past Almaz 3-2, and booked their place in the grand final beating Bars 3-1. The Army Men saw off Dinamo Shinnik in the first round 3-1 before they were given a real run for their money against Riga eventually coming out on top 3-2. SKA 1946 were then no match for them losing 3-0, before Krasnaya Armiya then beat Belie Medvedi in the semifinals 3-1.
     
    Today's hosts Spartak finished in ninth place of the regular season with 112 points, whereas their final opponents Krasnaya Armiya claimed seventh place for themselves with 120 points. In the MHL unlike in the KHL teams from the west and the east can play against each other in any round, and this year we have an all west final on our hands.
     
    The MHL consists of all the youth teams of the KHL clubs and not only. This is the fifth season that this league has been running and it's proven to be a real success, with the hockey being of a very high standard.
