Remarkably, Jason Chimera made a jump from the fourth line all the way into the opening lineup.

While Slovaks have their top line as the starting lineup, Team Canada is going with their second line.

Both teams are on the ice right now and it will all begin in just two minutes.

23-year-old forward Andrej Šťastný will make his World Championship debut tonight as he was inserted into the roster by coach Vladimír Vůjtek prior to the game.

At the moment, both teams are tied for fifth place of their group, which is something both would love to change and one of them will.

Some of Canadian players are on the ice now as well.

Team Slovakia is out on the ice and beginning their warmups.

As you can see, there are changes in lineups and not just that. Team Canada will also have another starting goaltender as Edmonton Oiler Ben Scrivens gets the call following an unsure performance by his former teammate James Reimer in the opening game.

    Starting lineups:

Canada: Scrivens (Reimer) – Coburn, Myers, Bieksa "C", Garrison, Ellis, Gudbranson, Rielly – B. Schenn, Burrows, MacKinnon – Turris "A", Read, Chimera "A" – Hodgson, Brouwer, Kadri – Huberdeau, J. Ward, Scheifele – Monahan.

Slovakia: Laco (Janus) – Ďaloga, Sloboda, Čerešňak, Marinčin, Švárny, Valach, Brejčák – Hrivik, Šatan "C", Nagy "A" – Viedenský, Pánik, Tatar – Miklík "A", Tybor, Marcinko – Skokan, J. Mikuš, Reway – A. Šťastný.

Referees: Nord (SWE), Olenin (RUS) – Puolakka (FIN), Suominen (FIN)..

Michel Miklík of KHL's Slovan Bratislava, currently transferring to Amur Khabarovsk, is one of the leaders of tournament's point-scoring at the start of day two. He scored the first goal of Team Slovakia and assisted one the second one. Slovaks got some scoring from their young guns last night with San Jose Sharks farm team player Marek Viedenský scored the second goal and Gatineau Olympiques' forward Martin Reway assisted on it.

On the other hand, Slovaks can be happy with a tight loss to their rivals from the Czech Republic, a team that looks so much stronger on the paper. Just like Team Canada, the Slovaks have one point in the standings at the moment.

Both Brayden Schenn and Cody Hodgson created number of great opportunities and Nathan MacKinnon excelled in the game as well. Jason Garrison was the most frequent cannon from the blue line which put Huet to a test as well, but wasn't enough for the Canadians to prevail.

Team Canada will also have to step up their scoring as two goals against Team France are not enough, even though Cristobal Huet put on a heroic performance yesterday in the goal.

An interesting decision is ahead of coach Dave Tippett as he has three quality goaltenders and James Reimer didn't look very convincing in the opener against Team France. Ben Scrivens of the Edmonton Oilers or Justin Peters of the Carolina Hurricanes might get to play tonight.

The three-game second day of this year's World Championship will be finished with a matchup between Slovakia and Canada, two of the stronger countries in the race for the title. Both teams have had a bad start to the tournament and lost in overtime or shootout in each of their games. While Canadians surprisingly fell to France after sixty-five minutes hadn't decided a winner, the Slovaks fought hard against their Czech rivals, but were beaten in overtime after all.

    Welcome. Game starts at 19:45.

    Radoslav Vavřina
