		Welcome. This game starts at 16:00 EST local time in Pardubice, 10:00 EDT.
		This is the opening game for both Canada and Germany in this tournament, and it should be a good one. Both teams have been fairly successful in the history of this tournament. The Canadians have won the gold medal twice, most recently in 2012, and took the bronze last year, and both of those tournaments were in Germany. In the 2012 final in Ingolstadt, Canada defeated the host Germans 9-5. For Germany, it was their best-ever finish, to go with 4 bronze medals. In a highly-competitive group that also includes Sweden and Finland, every game should be close and important in deciding the standings.
		The two teams are on the floor for the pre-game warm-ups. Canada is designated as the home team in this game and is wearing red jerseys with white trim, black pants and helmets. Germany is designated as the visiting team and is wearing white jerseys with black, yellow and red trim, black pants and helmets.

	04:38	The first penalty of the game is going to Canada's Kirk French for tripping behind his own net. Power play Germany.
	05:04	Goal for Team Germany! They move it around on the power play, and it's MARCO PFLEGER, who fired it home from the slot, beating Leggat short side. Assists: Marcel Brandt, Ales Jirik.

	09:21	Now the penalty is coming and it's goaltender interference against Fred Corbeil. It was a strange play where Ower made the save but then was forced to play it and Corbeil skated into him. Canada unhappy with the call but Germany back to the power play, 1/1.
	09:50	Josh Foote led a shorthanded rush, tried to make a move but lost control of the puck and collided into the end boards.
	10:20	Slapper from Fabio Carciola, pad save Leggat and the Canadians clear it.
	11:00	Canada back at full strength and they have possession now.
	11:50	Wrister from Pfleger, kicked out by Leggat.
	11:58	Canadians quick on the counter, Ower catches a long shot and holds on for one last faceoff.

		A pretty even period, with each team having stretches of dominance, and we're 1-1 after 12 minutes.

	12:56	Wrister from Ales Jirik, right on Leggat holds it.
	13:19	More German pressure, wrister from Soren Sturm is caught and held by Leggat.
	13:35	Now a Canadian rush, Baumgartner one-times it wide.

	14:10	Brendan Luscombe leads a rush tries to go short-side on the backhand but Ower gets a glove on it.

	15:24	From a missed German pass, Chris Terry gets a free puck and has a clear-cut breakaway, but loses control as he tries to make a move on Ower and doesn't get a shot away.
	16:39	Play back in the Canadian zone, shot from Baier, save Leggat. He tries to dig for his own rebound but Leggat covers.
	16:57	Now the Canadians rush up the floor, shot right on Ower, who covers.
	17:48	Terry takes a cross-point pass from Draper and snaps a wrister high and wide.
	18:19	Dave Hammond from a sharp angle, hits Ower and he holds on.
	19:48	We've got another Canadian penalty as Kyle Sheen is called for holding in his own end. Germany to the power play, 1/2.
	20:15	Germans move it around, big shot from Jirik misses and hits the glass.
	20:54	Now the puck's out of play in the Canadian zone with :23 left in the penalty, faceoff inside.
	21:19	A couple of shots from Brandt, one save, one missed, and now a German penalty just as the Canadian one ends -- Adriano Carciola for tripping. Canada with their first power play.
	21:45	Kyle Sheen re-directs a pass from the corner just wide of the post and the Germans clear it.
	22:40	Terry tries to pick the far side but Ower gets a blocker on it.
	23:00	Germany back at full strength, Canada with possession.
	23:18	Terry rips another shot wide.
	23:33	Terry again but he's in too close and Ower gives him nothing to shoot at.
	24:00	2nd period finished.
		These two teams continue to be evenly matched halfway through the game. They exchanged goals in the first period following a scoreless second it's 1-1 at halftime. 3rd period begins at 16:45 CEST, 10:45 EDT.
		The two teams are on the floor and the second half will start shortly.

	26:45	Rauckman hits the side of the net from a sharp angle.
	28:54	Huba Sekesi carries the puck up the floor and shoots, big glove save by Brett Leggat. I think that's the first actual shot on goal this period.
	29:10	Now Thomas Woods for Canada, his shot hits Ower.
	30:00	Now a German rush and a shot from #55, blocker save Leggat. I don't have a #55 in the German lineup.
	30:19	It appeared that Canada had scored, to take the lead, but it's no goal. Apparently the play had been stopped because Ower had it covered, or the referee lost sight of it. Faceoff in the German end.
	31:37	Now a shot is deflected out of play in the German zone again. Canada starting to come on.
	31:52	Wrister from Streicher, caught and held by Leggat.
	31:58	Germans with control off the draw, shot from Seifert and another glove save by Brett Leggat.
	32:20	Canada back the other way, Terry's shot is stopped by Ower and then he gets knocked over by two players crashing into him. Play continues.
	33:00	Terry centres for Hammond, one-times it wide.
	33:30	Goal for Team Canada! Persistence pays off, and Woods sets up JOSH FOOTE, who fires it home. Assist: Thomas Woods.
	34:42	Play is stopped as the puck ends up under a pile of players in the corner in the Canadian zone, faceoff outside.
	34:54	Baumgartner with a wrister, hits Ower in the shoulder and it goes out of play.

	40:20	Finally Germany gets the puck, after close to two minutes, and Horka Sekesi goes off for tripping. Canada to the power play, 0/1.
	41:07	Save Owen and he covers with :42 left in the penalty.
	41:32	Long shot by Woods, Terry the rebound, Ower stops them both and covers.
	41:18	The Canadians put the puck in the net but another one is waved off, this one for a player in the crease and it's waved off immediately. Still :02 left in the penalty.
	42:03	Luscombe with a high wrister that hits Ower in the shoulder, Germany now back at full strength.
	42:34	Long slapper from Fabio Carciola, right on Leggat covers.
	43:30	Canada back to ragging the puck and keeping it away from Germany, taking time off the clock.
	44:04	Finally a shot and a save by Ower, who holds on.
	45:15	Canada once again playing keep-away, continually circling back into their own zone with the puck. Germans have taken to chasing them now.
	46:20	Terry fans on the shot, then Hammond gets it and Ower makes a huge save to keep his team in the game.
	47:22	Goal for Team Canada! Hammond and Terry hook up again, and this time are successful. Hammond puts CHRIS TERRY in all alone on a breakaway. He makes a little move and slides it between Ower's pads to really put Canada in the driver's seat. Assists: Dave Hammond, Kyle Henderson.
	47:22	Timeout Germany. They need to score twice in the final 37.4 seconds. Thomas Ower is on the bench for a 5th attacker.

		An interesting game, for sure, with Canada showing masterful puck control to really keep Germany from getting any chances at all after they took a 2-1 lead.
