Both teams had chosen strong pre-season opponents, Stavanger won vs EBEL team Graz 99ers 2:0 and lost vs Vienna Capitals 2:3 in extra time.
Salzburg lost their match in Cortina vs the KHL club Metallurg Magnitogorsk 2:5.
It will be the last position-fixing, because both teams start their CHL adventure next week.
In Salzburg they are very excited about the new players, especially John Hughes, who played for the VSV last season, he scored almost 100 points, now he came back to Salzburg, where he has played in the season 2008/09!
The Salzburg Comebackers Hughes & Duncan had good scenes, but the Oilers defense men didnt give them enough ice to play their game.
Stavanger in full strength
Meckler made a breaking through, but Veideman stopped him with a hooking, Meckler got too high in his falling
Another powerplay goal!! Trattnig made the shot. Welser the pass and RYAN DUNCAN scored his second goal! Assisted by: Matthias Trattnig, Daniel Welser.
Oilers had two tough games in the last 3 days, so they were a bit tired at the ending and we will see what future brings.
Crowd voted Salzburg-comebacker Ryan DUNCAN as man of the match after his two goals.
Best wishes to both teams for thier starting games in CHL at August, 21th (Oilers) and August 22th (Red Bull)! (20:08:51)
