    Welcome to the live coverage of the game between Djurgården IF Stockholm and HC Fribourg-Gottéron on the opening day of the CHL.
     
    Swedish side Djurgården Stockholm played in the Swedish 2nd tier last season but was promoted to the SHL and earned a CHL spot as one of its founders. Notable signings are goalie Mikael Tellqvist and NHL veteran Mikael Samuelsson.
     
    Visiting Fribourg-Gottéron has been one of the best Swiss clubs in recent years but hasn't won any titles. Last season they were eliminated in the semi-finals. Benny Plüss and Julien Sprunger were the team's top scorers last year and are still on the team. One of the most interesting new players is Jeff Tambellini, but he is out with a rib injury.
