And game is over also in Stockholm, Djurgarden won 3:2. Eisbären did play shorthanded since 57th minute because Andre Rankel got a 5 minute major and game misconduct for high sticking. Eisbären tried to pull goalie Vehanen at the end, but with no luck.
Eisbären stays at the bottom of group D with a single point, DIF trails leading duo PSG Zlin – Fribourg-Gotteron being one point behind.
Both teams will meet on Sunday in Berlin's O2 arena. (22:44:55)
Lulea, the northernmost CHL franchise, simply dominated the game. Lucas Wallmark scored one goal and added two assists, but his team mate Stephen Dixon will keep the Cramo Top Scorer jersey for next battle with 6 points from 3 games. Lulea goalie Daniel Larsson celebrates his 1st shutout after conceding one goal in each of two previous games.
Hamburg Freezers will play at Lukko Rauma on Sunday while Lulea hosts Nottingham Panthers.
Daniel Larsson is waiting for an inverview:
Big surprise in the Group F. TPS had a great start with 2:0 lead in 5th minute, but home side fought hard and deserved their first goals in the league, two scored by Bernard, one Insam and Pance.
Turku remains second in the group F while Bolzano takes over Pardubice on third position. Bolzano will host Linköping on Sunday.
Eisbären Berlin took momentum of the game in Stockholm. First, Andre Rankel hit the post and after a little while Rankel assisted Mark Bell at his shorthanded equalizer! Hans Särkijärvi, coach of DIF, takes a time out.
Their scorers today: Ledin, Petrell, Fogstrom, Wallmark, Granstrom and Zaar.
BTW, Lulea is 6:0 against Hamburg now and has a total score of 20:2 in the CHL for now.
Kloten Flyers are effectively out of the game for this season of CHL, as they did not manage to earn a single point so far. They play JYP Jyväskylä on Sunday.
HV71 could celebrate for tonight, but they move to Salzburg to play Red Bull on Sunday.
HV71 misses Kevin Fiala and Bjorn Melin in today's game, but apparently depth of their roster is enough to cope even with such a outages.
Jyväskylä pulled their goalie at 57:32 while being down by 3 goals, but Salzburg hit only the post of the empty net. Followed by a foul of Hubacek (JYP), subsequent powerplay opened the way to David Meckler who scored fourth goal for Red Bull.
Shotout for Luka Gracnar (35 saves tonight) and HV71 5:0 in Kloten lead in the last period means that after Gameday 3, Salzburg, Jyväskylä and HV71 will be tied with 6 points each in the group I and all three teams have the same chances to be seen in playoffs.
Some quick passes and a shot from the top of the face off circle and we have 2:1 for Djurgården in the two man advantege. Goal was scored by defenseman Alexander Deilert.
Sterling helped team USA to win its first gold at the IIHF World Under-18 Championship back in 2002. He scored 9 goals in 8 games that tournament, while playing with such a names like Zach Parise, Ryan Kessler and Patrick Eaves.
Perell and Fogrtrom scored in the second period and solid performance of Daniel Larsson in Lulea's net gives home side an easy situation for the third period. Hamburg are still with only goal from inaugural game at home against Lulea, their next endeavours in Rauma and Lulea are goalless.
555 NHL games has Marcus Nilsson under his belt and it's no wonder he plays a huge role in HV71's offensive. His second goal of the night came when James Vandermeer of Kloten got a 2 minutes + 5 minutes + game misconduct penalty after a nasty foul on Jamtin. In the back-to-back 5-4 powerplay, HV71's captain Ted Brithen topped up the score to 4:0 for his team.
Per Ledin found the puck in the traffic in front of Sebastian Caron to make it 1:0 for Lulea. Ledin ties Stephen Dixon atop the Cramo Top Scorer race for his team.
Stockholm's Hovet arena is experiencing one of the most intense game in the CHL so far. Some clashes had to been stopped by the linesmen, but everything looks like players takes the game really seriously tonight. The only goal of the game was score by Petr Pohl, who rebounded its own shot past Mantas Armalis, who is in the crease for DIF tonight. Mantalis split his goaltending duties with Mikael Tellquist almost equally in the first two games for Djurgarden in the CHL and was a starting goalie for today's game.
Bolzano – TPS 2:2 in the first period
The first ever CHL goal for Bolzano is here. After two goals by TPS Turku (Smolenak and Rantanen), Foxes from South Tirol celebrates their first goal, scored by Anton Bernard from the right wing. Italian representative scored 6 goals for Bolzano during the last season in the EBEL.
Bolzano scored after 134 minutes of play.
15 shots by HV71 and only 5 by Kloten, that describes the game clearly. If Kloten fails to win any points today, their situation at the bottom of Group I will be terrible with almost no chances to advance to play-offs.
Home team goalie Gracnar recorded 11 saves and is the main reason why RBS had a solid start to this game. Lone goal came from the shot of Czech defenseman Zdenek Kutlak.
Backhander by Joonas Donskoi decided the tight game in the 8th series of long shootout. Home side was capable to recover in the third period from Cologne's 0:2 lead and they stays atop of Group A with 8 points.
Cologne will have a chance for revenge in a short time, as two clubs will meet again on Sunday in Germany.
Luleå – Hamburg
Djurgården – Eisbären
Bolzano – TPS
Linköping dominated in the first period, Pardubice managed to recover in the second, but third period wasn't comparable to the previous two with the pace and intensity and Pardubice couldn't get the momentum in their favor. Broc Little recorder three points while Jakub Vrana two (both LHC).
Pardubice hosts TPS Turku on Sunday and they need to win that game in order to maintain any chances to stay in the CHL after the round robin.
Linköpings HC will travel to Bolzano for Sunday game and likely they win, play-offs will be almost sure for them.
Game has been controlled by the home side, Panthers will have to wait for their first Champions hockey league points until Sunday, when they play at Lulea.
Lukko Rauma leads the standings of Group K with 3-0 game record, and hosts Hamburg Freezers on Sunday.
Kolarik scored 30 goals in 53 games of regular round in Swedish elite league in last season and became the best goal scorer of the league. He added another 6 in playoffs, 5 in European trophy and 1 in his appearance for American national team, which makes an impressive number of 41 goals in a single season!
Kärpät Oulu – Kölner Haie 1:2
Fans of LHC prays for another season in Linkoping for Vrana: Please, Washington, please make him stay with us for a season. I don't want to miss him already!
The only joy this game brought to Panthers tonight could be meeting with their former forward Kim Ahlroos, who played for Nottingham in 2003 – 2005.
HC CSOb Pojistovna Pardubice – Linköpings HC 3:4
Kärpät Oulu – Kölner Haie 0:2
Lukko Rauma – Nottingham Panthers 5:1
Second, after Riefers get back on the ice, he managed to give a nice assist to Marcel Ohmann who made it 2:0 for Köln.
Kärpät Oulu – Kölner Haie 0:2
Pardubice – Linköping 3:4
Ville Vahalahti added two assists and takes over the lead as his team's Cramo Top Scorer with 5 points in 3 games.
Lukko Rauma – Nottingham Panthers 4:0 after 1st period
Kärpät Oulu – Kölner Haie 0:0 after 1st period
Pardubice – Linköping 1:4
Aaron Gagon scores the opening goal and later his forechecking lead to the second, scored by Vahalahti.
Pardubice – Linkoping 1:3
Pardubice – Linköping 1:0
Forwards Chris Higgins, Oliver Betteridge and Mark Lee are also missing for Panthers and so they dressed only 9 forwards tonight in Rauma. It's going to be a tough job for Panthers tonight.
HC CSOB Pojistovna Pardubice – Linköpings HC
Lukko Rauma – Nottingham Panthers
Kärpät Oulu – Kölner Haie
Petr Caslava is one of the most experienced players of both Pardubice and CHL with 184 caps and 7 appearances at the IIHF world championships for Czech national team.
Will this help Eisbären to improve their play? They desperately need to bring some points back home from Stockholm – where they face Djurgarden tonight – to maintain their play-off chances for this season. That's gonna be tough, as Djurgarden is also chasing its first three-points victory. Battle for hope starts at 20:05 in Hovet.
Linköping arrived to Pardubice on Thursday afternoon and head coach Roger Melin knows that game will be completely different than their first clash in Sweden (2-1 for Linköping). "In Linköping, they had almost no time for pre-game warm up due to traffic jam and despite that played really well. We expect a tough game today," said Melin for LHC.eu.
