That was cruel for Bolzano. Linkoping scored game winnig goal at 58:55. Just off the faceoff draw on the left the puck rolls back to the point to Gustaf Forsling, and he smashes a thunderous slapshot into the net.
Forsling, at 18 still teenager, scored his first goal in a professional league, he hasn't played in the Swedish elite league before.
Home fans could be proud about their team, but this probably won't heal the loss of the points. Bolzano is third in group F and plays back-to-back game with Pardubice.
Linköping becomes the fourth team of CHL with 100% record after this gameday.
Bolzano Foxes battles hard for their chances. On a quick and incisive counterattack the puck rolls to Roland Hoffer waiting just to the left of the crease, and he lashes it into the near corner. The Bolzano fans are in raptures having seen that craved equaliser find the net, and they will be hoping that their momentum can carry them through to cause another big shock. Bolzano already caused a major upset beating TPS Turku 4:2 on Friday. (20:43:19)
There are still another six teams which could earn more or the same number of points as these two leaders of group K. Given the current score difference for both teams (+14 and +26), it's highly unlikely any team will outscore them in this tiebreaker, but there is still theoretical chance of achieving that.
Salzburg is 100% for this weekend and keeps their lead in the group I with 9 points, one point ahead of Jyväskylä. That would be a huge disappointment it they would miss playoffs in a given situation.
Petr Sykora scored initial goal of the shootout, but Tadas Kumeliauskas and Matias Sointu responded with another shots and because Jaroslav Benak hit only the post, TPS Turku takes 2 points from this game.
Pardubice are out of the playoffs regardless the remaining 2 rounds, and their back-to-back games with Bolzano can't change that.
Turku is second with 8 poins, one point behind Linköping, Swedes still have to finish their game in Bolzano (1:0 for LIF at the moment).
An important and huge win for the Kölner Haie in an epic battle between both teams. Kärpät dominated the first period and took an early 2-0 lead. On Friday Kärpät turned the game, but this time it was Köln who turned it into an 3-2 win in regulation time.
Aus den Birken in home net recorded 34 saves, Chris Minard was scoring hero with two goals in the third period.
Cologne takes over Liberec on the second place of group A, one point behind Oulu. Both teams still keeps the chance of winning the group.
And the game is over, Aus den Birken managed to keep his team over the pressure in the final minutes.
And another goal for Salzburg! Brett Sterling, who ironically played for HV71 last season and knows the opponent team well, scored from the tight angle after a nice pass by Hughes. North American cooperation brings Red Bull closer to the victory.
Lanxess arena is boiling after two goals by Chris Minard. Kölner Haie ties the game first, when Chris Minard found himselft alone in front of the open net and got an easy job. Then they capitalized the powerplay by a hard shot from the slot. Five minutes to go in the third.
Red Bull makes a giant leap towards playoffs. Brian Fahey released a nice wrist shot into the right upper corner.
Should Salzburg win the game, they will be really close to the playoffs as they play winless Kloten in the remaining two rounds.
First ever point for Pardubice, but they need another one to keep at least theoretical chances for playoffs.
Finally something has happened of note and the Swedes have taken a well needed lead! Feed up on the left faceoff circle and Oscar Sundh lashes the puck past the netminder and in! 0:1! First CHL goal for Sundh.
Always missing – never forgotten.
It will be an exciting third period, HV71 could tie the match after Karlsson powerplay goal. They are still the better team, but Gracnar made his job very impressive.
Should this score remain at the end of the game, Kärpät would need a single point to be promoted to playoffs from the two remaining games.
We're still waiting for the game to really take to life, although the home fans inside the arena are doing their best to inspire their team. Shots on goal after the first period 2:9.
Cramo Top Scorer Philip Riefers with a one-time slapshot! Beautiful pass by Stephens from the corner right in front of the net and to the stick of Philip Riefers who fires it blocker low behind Karhunen. Still a 2-1 lead for Kärpät
Lukas Radil, Pardubice Cramo Top Scorer, makes it 2:2 while his team was playing shorthanded.
Many penalties were the most characteristic point of the match, especially RBS players were too often on the penalty bank, so HV71 was the team with more pressure, but RBS leads with 1:0. Raffl scored the early goal. Raffl takes Cramo Top Scorer lead with this goal.
Pyörälä scored on the 2 man advantage, Joonas Donskoi at equal strength. Second doubled powerplayd has been defended by Cologne later in the period.
Interesting tactical move in Lanxess Arena at the end of the period. Empty net for Cologne with an offensive faceoff and 3.7 seconds on the clock, but wit no goal luck for home side.
Jyväskylä leads the group I with 8 points, but this would probably end tonight after Salzburg – HV71 game. Kloten is last with 1 point and can't advance to the playoffs any more.
Martin Gergber had incredible 50 saves in home net, but this was only enough to earn single point for Kloten. Gerber, who turned 40 on Wednesday, faced 77 shots in previous three CHL games.
Pardubice struggles to enter the games properly, the've lost 1st period in all four their CHL games. Jan Semorad scores late in the period to make it at least 1:2, but they had to add more defensive responsibility to their play in order to succeed.
Kloten earns their first point in the tournament, will they add another one?
Salzburg takes the lead early in the game after a goal of Thomas Raffl, but have to defend 3:5 powerplay now.
First goal for Kärpät, Pyörälä deflected the puck to the five hole of Aus den Birken. Kärpät did not dressed 16 years old Jesse Puljujärvi for tonight – Puljujärvi helped with one goal in penalty shootout on Friday, when Cologne played in Oulu.
Poor start for Czech team. Lucenius scored the first goal while being guarded by two defencemen, Ryan Lasch added second after a faint position play by home defence. The only chance of Pardubice by Nahodil has been stopped by great save of Lassila.
Ten minutes in the third period, game is tied in Kloten. Canadian fan noticed that Vincent Praplan does not get much icetime during powerplays.
Defenceman Michael Boivin is missing for RBS while Kevin FIala, Lawrence Pilut, Johan Johnsson and Anton Bengtson are absent for HV71.
Salzburg won 5:3 in game at Jönkoping.
Vahatalo, Tukonen and Karhu are absent in TPS roster for tonight.
There is a final buzzer at Äijänsuo Arena, home rink of Lukko Rauma. Second CHL shutout for Ryan Zapolski (after a 3:0 victory in Hamburg) means Freezers are still pointless, what is a huge disappointment for las season DEL finalist.
Teemu Nurmi scores 2 goals today, Toni Koivisto added one goal and two assists.
Petr Pohl and Matthew Foy scored on their penalties while Petri Vehanen stopped all attempts by Stockholm's team. Eisbären takes 2 points but even two victories against Fribourg and in Zlin couldn't ne enough for them to advance. Group D will see some interesting finish though.
It's been a busy day for Panther's netminder Craig Kowalski. He faced 46 shots, 9 out of them found the way past him.
Home side Daniel Zaar, Lucas Wallmark with 3 points each, Wallmark takes the lead in the club's Cramo Top Scorer race with 8 points. Great for the 19 years old!
Lulea is shy of securing their advance to the playoffs and because Lukko Rauma is also close to their victory today, we will see two teams battle for the group victory in the remaining two games of group K. They will decide, who will get to the playoffs as a group winner and if the record of the second team will be enough to advance too. Most probably both teams will see the playoffs.
Let's hope Mathis Olimb, new league's Cramo Top Scorer, will be OK after a nasty attack by McBride. Olimb had 4 points today and was able to replace his team-mate Andreas Johansson, who was absent due to a cold.
Frölunda is now tied with Genève-Servette with 9 points atop the group C, Villach remains third with 6 points
Second home game of Eisbären Berlin goes to overtime, in their first home appearance Berlin lost to PSG Zlin 3:4 after penalty shots.
Last two minutes left to play in the game and Panthers got their goal as well. Lassinantti could have stopped this shot by Cody Wild from the left wing.
Second goal of the day for Petr Pohl. He gets a pass from behind the net by Talbot and shoots a quick one timer.
Pohl joined Eisbären this summer after two seasons in Karlovy Vary, Czech extraliga side. 5600 fans, who found their way to O2 arena in sunny Sunday afternoon, could be happy he decided to join 'Polar Bears'.
McBride failed to score in his breakaway and few minutes later he attacked Mathis Olimb in a hard to understand situation. He gets a hit by Olimb and pushes his revenge by hitting several times on Olimb's head.
McBride gets a game misconduct and major penalty, additional penalty goes to Marco Pewal for slashing and Frolunda needed only a minute to make it 5:1. Artturi Lehkonen, who is still only 19, scores his 2nd goal of the match.
Terribly assault on Mathis Olimb who finally was able to leave the ice my himself. Match penalty on Brock McBride, let's hope Olimb will be okay.
Djurgården takes the lead in Berlin after a powerplay goal just 27 seconds into the third. Alexander Deilert was the scorer. It's interesting that he hasn't scored in the Swedish elite league so far in 59 games. Deilert spent last season in BIK Karlskoga in Allsvenskan.
If Eisbären fails to score today, they'll be eliminated from the playoffs race.
Mathis Olimb shows his class and completely steals the game (and Cramo Top Scoring race). Olimb has been left loose in front of the Villach goal and his rebound was an easy job. Olimb is now 13 points of 4 games.
Absolutely incredible. Now eight points in the last two matches for the Norwegian. Looks too damn good.
Two quick goals for Lukko Rauma midway through the second period. Henrik Koivisto and Teemu Nurmi scored goals one minute apart.
Powerplay goal by Hördler has been answered by Henrik Eriksson, who deflected Ljungh's shot into the net at the end of the second period.
Both teams met on Friday in Stockholm and home team won 3-2 after after a very close game.
Mikko Vitanen and Petr Hubacek (both Jyväskylä) has been serving their penalties and two man advantage provided a nice opportunity for Micki Dupont, who scored from the blue line.
And there's been a penalty shot called also in Gothenburg after Mathis Olimb plays with broken stick, but Fortier failed to score for Villach.
It's already 7:0 for Luleå against Nottingham, but could be even worse for Panthers. Penalty shot was called against Nottingham after Cohen hooks back Cehlarik on the breakaway. Cehlarik breaks into the zone with speed and tries to beat Kowalski with a low wristshot, but Kowalski makes the save and denied young Slovak's hattrick. For now.
Another point for Olimb. McBride could tie the game for Villach, but Lars Johansson stopped his deke, and on the other side Arturri Lehkonen makes it 3:1 with assists of Olimb and Gortz.
Mathis Olimb of Frölunda got his second assist of the day, which means not only home side lead 2:1 over Villach, but also Olimb's promotion to the very top of Cramo Top Scorer race with 12 points in 4 games so far. Olimb also leads the CHL with 10 assists.
Olimb is one of the most experienced Norwegian players, he appeared at 7 IIHF world championships and one olympic tournament during his career. His brother Ken Andre Olimb also plays for national team of Norway.
Erik Gustafsson, goal scorer for Frölunda, scored his third goal in the CHL and is now registrered for 7 points, which is the best among all defensemen.
Good result for VIllach after the first, as Frölunda outshooted them 14:9. Erik Gistafsson makes it 1:0 by a snapshot from the blue line, but there has been an equalizer after 40 seconds – Fortier picks up a loose puck on a rebound in front of the net and scores with a nice move.
Cat and mouse play at Luleå so far – anf Panthers aren't the cats. 4:0 after 15 minutes of the first period, Zaar, Wallmark and Cehlarik topped up the score.
Goal for Djurgården, Joakim Eriksson capitalized nice effort and pass by Erik Nystrom. DIF's captain scored his second CHL goal.
Czech winger Petr Pohl makes it 1:0 for Eisbären. Florian Busch passed the puck to the traffic and Pohl got an easy job to score. It's second consecutive CHL game for Pohl with a goal.
Peter Cehlarik opens the game for Luleå. Slovakian forward, who is still just 19, exchanged puck with Dixon and scored after the pass from behind the net. Cehlarik split last season playing for Luleå in swedish elite league and Asplöven in the second division (Allsvenskan). He also played for Slovakia at U20 IIHF World championships in Malmö.
Luleå Hockey – Nottingham Panthers
Eisbären Berlin – Djurgårdens IF
Frölunda Indians – EC Villacher SV
Mark Bell of Eisbären has been suspended for one game.
