There is the final buzzer, and in a simply crazy encounter Avangard Omsk have claimed their second victory of the season with a 8:5 over Vityaz Podolsk! They found themselves playing catch up until the third period where they sprung into life, scoring four unanswered goals. Sergey Kalinin and Sergey Shirokov grabbed a double each for the home side, while Erik Gustafsson, Vladimir Sobotka, Denis Parshin and Andrey Ivanov also netted. Vityaz can be proud of their efforts, and Robert Kousal, Mario Kempe, Roman Horak, Nikita Shatskiy and Dmitriy Tsyganov all scored for the away outfit. Thanks for following the game with us, and join me again soon for SKA Saint Petersburg against Dinamo Minsk in the KHL! (16:42:34)

    60:00
    Game over.

    59:47
With Denis Kostin notably flowing with confidence we're into the final seconds with Avangard heading to an unbelievable 8:5 triumph!

    58:44
Kostin! What a stunning save that is from the young netminder! Roman Horak looks sure to score Vityaz's sixth all alone on the doorstep, but from point blank range Denis Kostin flashes leather quite wonderfully! How did he do that!

    58:14
As time just starts to run down we do indeed have another penalty, as for high sticking Avangard's Kirill Semyonov has been called

    58:01
Vityaz do look rather deflated now and it;s understandable, they led for long periods today until they have just crumbled to Avangard's heavy pressure!

    56:15
    Goal for Avangard!
It's the thirteenth goal, this is just amazing! Vladimir Sobotka beats his opponent for sheer pace down the left, and he feeds SERGEY SHIROKOV at the far post who makes no mistake! Powerplay goal and it's 8:5! Assists- Vladimir Sobotka

    55:33
That Vityaz powerplay is about to become an Avangard powerplay though, as now Maxim Afinogenov of the visitors has been spotted for tripping his opponent

    53:42
Nikolay Lemtyugov of Avangard has given Vityaz a bit of hope though, as he has been punished for high sticking. It's incredible to think we've witnessed 12 goals today, it really has been some spectacle!

    53:22
    Goal for Avangard!
That might just be that now! Harri Sateri just cannot see where the puck is as it was wristed in from the left flank, and all on his own on the crease ANDREY IVANOV at the second attempt staps it in the net! Powerplay and it's 7:5! Assists- Tom Wandell and Andrey Pervushin

    51:59
They haven't escaped another penalty here though! Now Yakov Seleznyov of Vityaz has been penalised, this time for slashing again!

    51:23
Anton Korolyov cutting to the crease down the right shorthanded completely takes out Avangard goaltender Denis Kostin, and he's having to be seen to by the medical team. No extra penalty has been called against Vityaz though!

    50:58
The penalties keep on coming for the forlorn away side, as now for interference Yury Koksharov has been handed a two minute minor

    49:03
Alexander Perezhogin swings sharply to the left of the slot all on his own, and beats the netminder blocker side! But no, as Harri Sateri's mask had already been dislodged the referees have waved the goal off!

    48:57
Vityaz are completely on the ropes, they just can't get out of their own zone! And they've been forced into giving up another foul with Mikhail Yakubov being called for hooking!

    47:24
    Goal for Avangard!
The comeback is complete! SERGEY SHIROKOV sweeping up the puck speeds down the middle of the zone, slightly drifts to the right before cunningly beating the goalkeeper with a pacy snapshot! It's 6:5! Assists- Denis Parshin

    46:48
Popov! Alexander Popov with a beautiful skate cutting in off the right hand boards finds himself with only the goaltender to beat, but he just lets the puck run too far in front of him! And Vityaz have survived that particular scare and they're back at full strength

    44:47
And Vityaz have indeed taken a timeout, they can't afford to get swamped under now with the match at such a critical stage!

    44:47
The pressure is seriously hot from Avangard now! And Vityaz are finding it hard to cope, Yury Koksharov has been sent to the penalty box for holding

    43:49
Vladimir Sobotka hanging by the right of the slot swings it to the far post, but there the puck is tapped inches wide of the near post! Had it been on target Harri Sateri would have been helpless!
