    Start of shootout.

Linköping will start these game-winning shots.

0 saves for Järvinen in overtime, 1 for Högberg. No wonder we had no goals in ivertime...

    Shootout fun!

    Overtime finished.

    64:56
Timeout for Linköping with four seconds remaining.

    62:54
Full strength playing for the last two minutes!

    61:55
    TPS playing shorthanded.

    61:04
So there's still 1.50 remaining of TPS penalty and 43 seconds of LHC's.

    60:31
    Ovetime action is on!

    60:01

    60:00
    3rd period finished.

    59:47
Anton Karlsson takes a penalty with 13 seconds remaining. TPS timeout.

    58:32
No goal it is. 1:28 remaining.

    58:32
Nakladal with an angry shot! Hit the crossbar probably, but the refs will check it from videos.

    58:00
Two minutes remaining of the third period.

    57:54
Well that took time to contemplate. I don't think anyone's happy about this decision.

    57:54
Penalties for TPS: Gysbers 5 + game penalty, checking to the head.
Penalties for LHC: Rahimi 2+ game penalty, checking from behind.
This means that both players are out from this game.

    57:54
Basically all players who were on ice participated. Well, not the goalies.

    57:52
Uh oh, a fight! Penalties coming up....

    57:38
Four-on-four hockey is over. Teams playing at full strength!

    55:35
Penalties for both teams: Smolenak for TPS, Matheson for Linköping. Holding for Matheson, diving for Smolenak.

    54:31
    Penalties over, still tied,

    54:00
What. A. Save by Högberg! Athletic moves and a great glove save to keep his team alive.

    53:21
Smolenak, Koskiranta and Lasch trying to force the puck past Högberg but with no success.

    52:31
Another penalty for Linköping! Ryan Lasch is mishandled and TPS will play 1:47 on power play, unless they score first. This penalty goes to Daniel Rahimi for cross-checking.

    52:18
Power play for TPS with less than 8 minutes to go! Broc Little takes the penalty.

    50:54
Feelings are slowly heating up here. Well, Finns and Swedes never liked each other. Also, 3648 spectators here in Turku tonight.

    50:20
    Past halfway of third period.

    47:56
Very even game so far. It seems like a middle-tier Finnish and Swedish teams are almost equally good!

    47:08
Both teams are playing at full strength.

    44:50
    Slashing penalty for Jacub Micfliker.

    42:03
    Goal for Turku!
Oh wow, tied again! From a pass straight after faceoff and yes, shorthanded. Scored by ILKKA PIKKARAINEN. Assisted by: Marko Virtala. 3-3

    40:57
Tadas Kumeliauskas takes a penalty for slashing. Not the start TPS wanted.

    40:17
    Goal for Linköping!
Oh, what a great start for Linköping! They take the lead for the first time in this game just 17 seconds into third. It is scored by MATTIAS SJÖGREN. Assisted by: Nichlas Hardt, Broc Little. Lousy defending from TPS. 2-3

    40:01
    Start of 3rd period.

Almost ready for the third period!

Järvinen: 13 saves, Högberg: 10 saves in second period.

Tied at two after two. This could go either way.

That's it for this period. We'll be back at 19:13 CET.

    40:00
    2nd period finished.

    39:00
One minute remaining on second period. TPS just had two great scoring chances, but not this time.

    36:42
Well, of course that happened just after I criticized Linköping. Less that 3 minutes remaining in this period.

    35:55
    Goal for Linköping!
And there it is, the second goal for Linköping! It is , of course, JACOB MIKFLIKIER who has been great in SHL and already had an assist in this game. A beautiful goal it is, too. Little space but he manages to get the puck up and past Järvinen. Assisted by: Chad Kolarik. 2-2

    35:06
Ohh, Linköping just almost got a lucky goal but Järvinen was lucky since the puck that fell from his glove did not go into goal.

    34:39
Linköping not getting their engine started right now after a strong start to this game.

    31:35
TPS have been quite physical in this period: hits and also some nice blocks. Crowd likes it!

    27:45
Some bad defending from Linköping, and Högberg should have saved that one too. Swedes now one down again.

    27:21
    Goal for Turku!
Out of nowhere TADAS KUMELIAUSKAS shoots and the puck finds it way to goal under Högberg's armpit. Assisted by: Marko Virtala. 2-1

    25:05
A couple of nice hits in this period. Think the crowd might start warming up soon.

    24:19
Nothing special happened during that PP. Lots of failed shots and so on. TPS are nervous?

    22:19
High-sticking earns a two-minute penalty for Mark Matheson (LHC)

    20:18
Just announced that Jacob Micflikier got the second assist for Linköping's first goal.

    20:01
    Start of 2nd period.

Almost ready to go! Second period, yes.

Saves in first: 5 for Järvinen, 10for Hogberg.

We'll return at 18:23 CET. 1-1 after first.

    20:00
    1st period finished.

    19:25
Nothing come out of that PP. Almost done with the 1st period.

    17:33
TPS PP looks very different from the effective one we saw in earlier CHL games in Turku.

    17:15
Now it's Linköping's turn to take a penalty. Jonas Almtorp takes this one and it's for holding.

    16:06
Both teams are playing at full strength.

    15:15
Junland's back on ice, so he wasn't injured in that Rantanen hit.
    KARLSSON - 1:1

    14:25
    Goal for Linköping!
Tie game! A fast shot by SEBASTIAN KARLSSON finds it way past Järvinen. And Linköping still have 1:41 of PP. Gustav Forsling and Jacob Micflikier get the assists. 1-1

    12:32
Junland is still sitting on beach but he doesn't look like he's feeling too well.

    12:21
Oh wow, Linköping brings the puck up to the offensive end quickly but they just don't manage to score.

    11:06
Checking from behind was the reason for that penalty. Rantanen, who scored the first goal of this game, is now out of the game.

    11:06
Bug penalty (5+20 minutes) coming up after a nasty hit by Mikko Rantanen on Jonas Junland. Junland hurts his face but he's still sitting on the bench.

    10:16
The penalty is almost over and there isn't too much going on here. A couple of shots for TPS, but the young Hogberg has been quite good (besides letting in that one goal).

    08:25
Oscar Sundh takes the first penalty of his team tonight and it's for slashing.

    07:49
Linköping had been the better team before this, but now TPS clearly got a huge boost to their confidence.
    RANTANEN - 1:0

    07:09
    Goal for Turku!
And it did! MIKKO RANTANEN scores off a feed by Kumeliauskas! TPS got a great start to this game. Assisted by: Tadas Kumeliauskas. 1-0

    07:09
They're checking to see if puck crossed the goal line.

    07:09
Maybe a goal! They need to check that one from videos. It was for TPS, if it was.

    05:53
Smolenak's penalty is over. Nothing special happened during that penalty.

    03:53
Radek Smolenak for hooking. The play continues, however, and TPS playing well while short-handed and almost scoring.

    02:41
Nothing too special happening so far. Both teams watching each other closely and no wonder: it's a huge game, after all.

    00:39
Linköping with this game's first scoring chance, but Järvinen makes the save.

    00:01
    Game started.

    Starting lineups:

TPS Turku: Järvinen (Lassila) – Lehtonen, Gysbers, Nakladal, Pulli, Karhu, Friman, Keskitalo – Sointu, Koskiranta, Lasch – Smolenak, Kumeliauskas, Rantanen – Tukonen, Virtala, Pikkarainen – Kulmala, Vähätalo, Karvinen.

Linköping HC: Högberg (Rautio) – Forsling, Matheson, Rahimi, Junland, Dahlström, Hultström, Karlsson, Norden – Little, Sjögren, Hardt – Mickflikier, Taffe, Kolarik – Sundh, Almtorp, Tornqvist – Andersson, Karlsson, McDonell

Referees: Hribik (CZE), Kaukokari (FIN) – Neva (FIN), Sormunen (FIN).

Teams are skating on ice! Almost go-time.

CHL returns to Turku after two early games in August, both of which TPS won. TPS faced one of the biggest upsets in CHL so far in September when they lost to HC Bolzano in Italy. They did bounce right back with an overtime win over Pardubice, though.

Visiting Linköping have had a smooth sail in CHL this far. They have won all four of their games and have gained 12 points out of 12 possible. They haven't had quite as perfect a start to SHL though as they are currently on 7th place. Canadian forward Jacob Micflikier has had a great season so far with five points in five games.

TPS are on place 9 in Liiga after five games and they have definitely had some problems with getting started for the season. Will the Swedes be able to steal points from Turku? Games between Finnish and Swedish teams have never lacked passion, and this one most certainly won't either as Linköping and TPS decide who's going to win their group.
