final
HC SLOVAN Bratislava
2:3 (2:1, 0:2, 0:0)
HC Sibir Novosibirsk
Thursday 30.10.2014, 19:30 • Slovnaft Arena • KHL

It's a real shame but the final buzzer has now sounded, and in a pulsating, simply brilliant match HC Sibir Novosibirsk have defeated HC Slovan Bratislava 3:2! Both teams played some of the best hockey that I have seen this season, and this match will live long in the memory. Vaclav Nedorost and Tomas Surovy struck for Slovan, but it wasn't enough as Sergey Shumakov, Jonas Enlund and Dmitriy Monya gave Sibir all the spoils. Thanks for following the game with us, and see you again soon for more thrilling KHL action! (22:14:27)

    60:00
    Game over.

    59:58
As Sibir come back to full strength the final seconds are now upon us, and they are heading for a 3:2 triumph on the road! What a true hockey spectacle it's been!

    59:34
Hudacek! Just how didn't he score, that's unbelievable! Set up brilliantly with practically an empty corner of the net to aim at Libor Hudacek slaps wide of the left hand post! It seemed impossible to miss!

    58:52
The seconds are ticking by and Johan Backlund has now been pulled for the extra skater, it's a six on four for the hosts as they risk everything!

    58:00
Michal Vondrka slowly walks to a tough angle on the left flank, sends it across the face of goal and the netminder reads the play to take it up while coming under pressure

    57:49
What a terrible time for Sibir to take a completely unwarranted penalty! Captain Alexey Kopeikin has let his team down by tripping his opponent up, and it's a glorious chance for Slovan to make the game even late on!

    56:53
Tomas Rachunek for Slovan breaks into the attacking zone, as soon as he gets in space wrists with whip, but it's directly down Mikko Koskinen's throat who clings on

    55:27
Now he does has something to do though as a deflected slapper from the blue line causes him trouble, and he has to rely on his defenders to hack it away from danger!

    54:39
Mikko Koskinen in Sibir's net really is a spectator, I can't imagine that he expected that at all when preparing to skate out for the crucial stanza

    53:24
Offside is committed by Slovan just as they were appearing to go on a lightning quick breakaway down the right, and during this commercial break both coaches are frantically dishing out instructions to their respective teams

    51:37
All of a sudden only just over eight minutes remain and Slovan haven't had a meaningful shot in this period, the home fans are becoming inpatient!

    50:41
Monya! Dmitriy Monya puts on a show as he jumps in between not one but two defenders, but when off balance on the turn cracks it over the crossbar! It would have been a really beautiful goal!

    49:21
Sibir keep on coming as now Artyom Voroshilo wriggles free to the right of the slot, and lashes past the net when very well placed practically all alone!

    48:14
The hosts are back at full strength and they have to get their game together soon, they haven't got going after the second break at all!

    47:45
Kopeikin! Alexey Kopeikin standing on the doorstep almost finds the target as his effort loops over Johan Backlund's shoulder and wide of the left hand post! That was so close to dropping in!

    46:14
Slovan's head coach is shaking his head in disgust as his team have picked up a very untimely penalty! Defenceman Mario Bliznak has been called for hooking, giving Sibir a big opportunity to pull away!

    45:11
Maxim Shalunov outpaces his defender, glove side attempts to catch the netminder unawares with a snappy wrister, but Slovan's Kurtis Foster gets back in time to deflect it up and over the bar!

    43:51
And now as the puck is whizzed across Johan Backlund's crease from the left again, a wicked deflection sends it centimeters off target by the far post! Slovan can't get anywhere near the attack at the moment!

    42:44
Stepan Sannikov for the visitors almost slips through one on one peeling in off the left wing, but he can't make the angle cute enough. Sibir are doing a good job of keeping their opponents out of their zone in the period so far, they're looking solid!
