Skellefteå AIK
2:2 (0:1, 1:0, 1:1 - -:-)
Luleå Hockey
Tuesday 13.01.2015, 19:00 • Skellefteå Kraft Arena • Champions League

Joakim Fagervall (coach, Luleå): "For us it has been great to participate in CHL. We have played many good games and have had good crowds when we've played away." (23:00:27)

Hans Wallson (coach, Skellefteå): "We've hardly done any good games in the CHL. I do not really know why."

What a fantastic match that turned out to be, as Lulea Hockey took a last gasp equaliser against Skelleftea AIK to make it 2:2 after the semi final first leg! It is probably a fair result, with both teams having their moments. Lars Bryggman opened up the scoring before Anton Lindholm and Patrik Zackrisson turned the game on its head, only for Kristian Nakyva to grab the headlines late on. Thanks for following the game with us, and see you again soon for more pulsating Champions Hockey League action!

A couple of final penalties were handed out just as the buzzer sounded, with Lars Bryggman of Skelleftea and Lulea's Martin Lundberg both being punished for roughing.

    60:00
    Game over.

    59:47
With again punches being thrown by just about everyone involved the final seconds are upon us, with Lulea having grabbed what could be a crucial equaliser in Skelleftea!
    Kristian NAKYVA - 2:2

    58:57
    Goal for Luleå!
What drama here! With virtually no time left Lulea have taken advantage of the powerplay to draw level! KRISTIAN NAKYVA draws his stick back, slaps it as hard as it can, and it crashes into the net blocker side! Assisted by: Daniel Zaar. Powerplay goal, 2-2.

    58:52
Tempers are beginning to get out of control, it's been a very feisty first leg indeed! As a mass brawl threatens to break out Skelleftea have taken another cheap penalty, as Czech defenceman Martin Sevc has been found guilty of roughing.

    57:21
The hosts have heroically killed off both of those penalties, and with the home crowd roaring them on they are at full strength. Time is beginning to tick down now!

    55:51
Not one, not two, but three thunderous slappers are fired in on Markus Svensson from point blank range, and somehow the netminder gets his body in the way of all of them! The whistle is blown here as he has been completely taken out by a number of players on his crease.

    55:21
With that call Lulea have taken a timeout, they understand that this could turn out to be a pivotal moment in this semi final overall!

    55:21
And that has promptly turned into a Lulea five on three! Arvid Lundberg of Skelleftea has now been called for tripping, and in doing so he has put his team in big trouble!

    54:26
Skelleftea appear to be settling for what they have, and they've taken a very untimely penalty, with Oskar Sungqvist getting caught out for delaying the game.

    54:12
Zaar! That was the chance for Lulea to equal this tie up! The loose puck rolls to Daniel Zaar on the doorstep, and he whacks the puck against the goalkeeper's outstretched right pad! Markus Svensson had no time to react!

    52:51
After a powerful skate from Dean Kukan on the left, and eventually moving to the middle, Kristian Nakyva takes a thump at the puck, and Markus Svensson makes an expert glove save to keep his team ahead.

    50:11
Lulea have ridden that particular storm, and are back at full strength. Their priority will be not to concede any more, especially with the second and deciding leg coming up at their home.

    49:00
Another swift team move from Skelleftea tees up Rob Schemp between the circles, and with no one even close to him he can only slap into the netminder's stomach.

    Shaun Nicolaides
