Good morning from Trinec! Welcome to the President Cup 2015, the U16 ice-hockey tournament organized by HC Ocelari Trinec. Eight teams will compete for the trophy, today begins the group stage.
Tournament system
Eight teams, Ocelari Trinec, Sparta Prague, Vitkovice Steel, Energie Karlovy Vary, CSKA Moscow, Dinamo Minsk, Dinamo Riga and Espoo Blues, are divided into two group with four teams each. Each team will play three games in the group stage against every team in its group. The first two teams from each group will advance into semi-finals. After the finals the best players from every team will play in the All-Stars Game.

Jaroslav Nedved (coach HC Sparta Prague:) "It was a good game with good opponent. In this category the age difference between players is really huge. We have older, stronger team, and that‘s why we won. We are pleased with the result, but other matches will be much tougher for us."
Juris Ozols (coach Dinamo Riga): "Sparta was better in every way. We are in Trinec for a week already, we have there exelent conditions. I believe, that in next games we will be much better."

Rinat Khasanov (coach CSKA Moscow): "We came to Trinec just yesterday, we were worried how we will adapt. But I think we played good game. Trinec played very well and our guys have shown big charakter.“
Mojmir Trlicik (coach HC Vitkovice Steel): „It was just second match for us. We made many mistakes, however we were also able to punish their mistakes. The game had shown to us, that we have a lot of work to do. We are happy with the victory, but what is the most important for us, is that we can find and fix all mistakes that we made.“
Lukas Lomicky (coach Karlovy Vary): „We had excellent opening. During first ten minutes we had many chances, although we did score only once. Opponent then managed to score twice in nine seconds. After that we had good pressure, sadly we were not efficient enough. I think that draw is fair, we were a bit luckier on shootouts.“
Heikki Tiihonen (coach Espoo Blues): „We saw beautiful match with many chances on both sides. We faced really good opponent who shows his strenght. My team played well, in the end we weren’t as lucky as opponent. I want to thank for inviting us on this tournament. It is well organized and we are pleased to be here.“
