Blues will start their season in the Champions Hockey League at home. The first opponent is reigning Czech champion HC Litvinov, who started with a 4-1-win against Brūleurs de Loups in Grenoble.

Blues has played four exhibition games before the Champions Hockey League opener and the highlight was a victory over KHL champion SKA St Petersburg. Peter Tiivola scored a hat-trick in the game.

- We are very excited. It's great to play games where both teams play seriously for the win. There are tough teams to play against, they are best of their country and full of experienced players, Blues captain Kim Hirschovits says.

Blues defensemen Kalle Kaijomaa and Olli Malmivaara are likely to miss the game due to injuries.

HC Litvinov arrived in Espoo on Saturday evening and practiced in the arena. During the first game their goals were scored by three different lines. Experienced winger Michal Travnicek and defenceman Filip Pavlik recorded two points in the first game.

Visiting team, which played their first game with a line-up of 18 skaters, is missing defensemen Zbynek Sklenicka and Marek Baranek from its roster, as well as forward Adam Chlapik.
