My name is Efraim Larsson and thanks for following this live report. I'll now head down to the locker room for some quotes. (22:37:44)

    Goals:

1-0 (05:50) | Ryan Lasch (Patrik Carlsson, Oscar Fantenberg)
    1-1 (15:43) | Janne Tavi (Mikko Salmio)
2-1 (17:48) | Ryan Lasch (Andreas Johnson, Henrik Tömmernes) PP2
2-2 (47:11) | Joose Antonen (Mikko Kalteva, Janne Kolehmainen)
3-2 (53:58) | Artturi Lehkonen (Lukas Bengtsson, Mattias Janmark) PP1

    Shots: 46-23 (23-6, 12-10, 11-7)
    PIM: 8-22 (6-12, 0-2, 2-8)

JYP can't create enough pressure offensively to tie the game, Frölunda can't score in the open net either. Instead we have a finished game where Frölunda takes three new points and definitely top the group with 6 points.

    Game over.

    59:36
JYP can create a little attack, but instead of a scoring chance they get called for an offside in the goal crease. Face off outside Frölundas defensive zone.

    59:20
Tarkki has now left the net again.

Tarkki is back in the net.

    59:06
With 54 seconds left of the third period, JYP d-man Valtteri Kemilainen goes to the box for 2 minutes for Tripping.

    58:40
JYP pulls Tuomas Tarkki and play with six skaters on the ice!

    58:00
Just two minutes left of the third period. I assume JYP will pull their goalie shortly and force for a game tying goal.

    56:58
JYP d-man Juuso Pulli is laying on the ice in pain after a collission with his teammate. Seemed to get a hit on his leg, but he manage to stand up on his own after a while.

Frölunda are 28.57% (2/7) on the powerplay so far tonight. A total percent of 38,88% after scoring in 7 of their 18 PP's so far in the tournament.

JYP are 80% in PK (2/10) so far in the tournament.

    53:58
    Power Play Goal for Frölunda!
Lukas Bengtsson finds ARTTURI LEHKONEN in the right face off circle and Lehkonen bombs it in on a one-timer.
Assisted by: Lukas Bengtsson & Mattias Janmark.

    53:22
I was just about to write that a several situations occured where both teams wanted penalties, without a call.
All of a sudden, the referee blows his whistle and points at the JYP player bench and calls an Abuse of Officials penalty. Another powerplay for Frölunda coming up.

    50:58
Christoffer Persson and Tuomas Pihlman both goes to the box for 2 minutes after a little scrum off play. 4 on 4 on the ice.

    50:17
    Frölunda call for a timeout.

    50:17
As Frölunda makes a line shift, Darryl Boyce makes a great offensive ride and skates through the zones to create a breakaway, but he can't beat Johansson on the scoring chance.

    50:00
JYP has really gotten themselves together in this game. They're really disturbing Frölunda as the game goes on. They create more and more offensively.

    47:11
    Goal for JYP
Mikko Kalteva makes a great, opening pass to JOOSE ANTONEN on the turnover and Antonen beats Johansson under the glove on the breakaway. It's tied in Gothenburg.
    Assisted by: Mikko Kalteva

    45:17
JYP creates a long and great attack with a couple of chances, but neither one of them can beat Johansson in the net.

    43:33
Even in this powerplay, Frölunda gets much tim in offensive zone, but JYP defends the slot well. No goal and JYP are not back on full strength.

    41:33
JYP player Tuomas Pihlman goes to the box for Slashing, 2 minutes.

    41:07
Frölunda starts the period good and Nicklas Lasu makes a brilliant opening pass to teammate Mats Rosseli Olsen, but Tarkki saves the shot from the slot with his blocker.

    40:01
    Start of 3rd period.

Both teams are out on the ice and we we'll start the third period in about a minute.

We haven't gotten to see a very good period, not at all. JYP started out better, and even if Frölunda managed to work their way into the period again and maybe created the best scoring chances in the period, JYP was overall the better team with more structure and solidness in the game plan. It feels wide open with one period left to play.

    Shots: 35-16 (23-6, 12-10)
    PIM: 6-14 (6-12, 0-2)

We'll be back with the 3rd period around 10 PM (CET).

    40:00
    2nd period finished.

    36:21
    JYP takes a timeout.

    36:21
There's a lot of inadvertence from most of the players right now. It seems like it's difficult to play the puck well, but just as I'm writing this Frölunda has had a long attack in offensive zone and just forced the JYP defence to clear to puck to an icing.

    34:38
I think JYP definitely started the 2nd period best, but Frölunda are getting more and more of the puck possession and pushing harder and harder on JYP goalie Tarkki.
We're far away the speed from the 1st period, though.

    31:50
JYP killed the penalty and are now back on full strength.

    31:15
Frölunda have scored on one of the PP's today, so far, and they keep playing very solid. JYP defends the slot really well though, but they're having a hard time clearing the zone.
But why clear the zone when Tarkki deliver save after save?

    29:50
Mikko Luoma, JYP, draws a minor penalty for Delaying the game. Fifth PP for Frölunda in the game now.

    29:35
Great attack by JYP now when Mikko Salmio wrapped around the net, but Johansson saved. Then Valtteri Kemilainen shot wide before Salmio again tipped a shot by Mikko Kalteva, which Johansson solidly could save, though.

    29:06
The intensity has gained a bit now, and for the first time we're getting to see some hockey without a whistle after 20 seconds.
Just recently Frölunda had a long attack that ended up in a post hit by d-man Jacob Larsson.

    26:20
JYP creates two new scoring chances, first Valtteri Hotakainen and then Markus Nenone. But Johansson saves both of the shots.

    25:37
But Lars Johansson of Frölunda saves the penalty shot, which brings down the cheers from the crowd.

    25:37
Tuomas Pihlman of JYP gets a breakaway and gets hooked up and is served a penalty shot.

    25:10
JYP has started the 2nd period best – or at least they have managed to take most advance of the jagged start of the period. But ther haven't been any clear scoring chance, yet.

    23:06
JYP's Markus Nenonen tips the puck in front of the net and hits the post. Close call for JYP right there, still 2-1 to Frölunda though.

    21:38
Short sequences right now with short time between the whistles. Not a very skilled, rather physical start of the second period.

The arena caretakers worked rather quick and we're ready to play again. Here we go!

    20:54
Just 54 seconds into the second period, a JYP player (missed who it was) delivered a hit on a Frölunda player which makes the glass pop out. We will be have to wait for a while, then.

    20:01
    Start of 2nd period.

Both teams hit the ice with about 90 seconds left to the start of the 2nd period.

We got to see a very entertaining first period, where Frölunda came out and started the game terribly good. The first period was intensive with high quality and pretty physical during the second half. JYP seemed to be a bit shocked by the start of Frölunda and it will be interesting to see how the 2nd start.

    Goals in the first period:
1-0 (05:50) | Ryan Lasch (Patrik Carlsson, Oscar Fantenberg)
    1-1 (15:43) | Janne Tavi (Mikko Salmio)
2-1 (17:48) | Ryan Lasch (Andreas Johnson, Henrik Tömmernes) PP2

    Shots: 23-6
    PIM: 6-12

    20:00
    1st period finished.

    18:55
JYP are back on full strength.

    17:48
    Power Play Goal for Frölunda!
Henrik Tömmernes makes a pass to Andreas Johnson by the right post who finds RYAN LASCH on the left post who can direct it in to 2-1 on the 5 on 3, with his second goal of the game.
Assisted by: Andreas Johnson and Henrik Tömmernes.

    16:55
Jani Tuppurainen, JYP, draws a 2 minute penalty for Abuse of Officials penalty after screaming at the referees from the bench. Frölunda will now play the 5 on 3 for 1:54.

    16:49
With three minutes left of the period, Janne Kolehmainen draws a Holding penalty and Frölunda gets their third PP in the game.
    15:43. Janne TAVI - 1:1

    15:43
JYP ties the game when Mikko Salmio steals the puck in the corner and makes a pass to JANNE TAVI in front of the net who can put the buscuit in the net with a hard and distinct backhand.
    Assisted by: Mikko Salmio

    14:49
Frölunda killed that penalty solid and are now back on full strength. JYP got one shot on goal on that PP.

    14:22
JYP have a hard time establishing the powerplay, and Frölunda just cleared the zone again.

JYP are 33.33% in powerplay (1/3) so far in the tournament.

Frölunda have cleared all 4 PK's they've had so far.

    12:49
JYP will now have a great opportunity to change the game a bit, when Johan Sundström, Frölunda, goes to the box for Tripping, 2 minutes.

    11:52
JYP manage to ride the storm out and are now back on full strenght. Really solid penalty killing there.

    11:22
Janne Kolehmainen – WOW! He manages to block three shots in a single shift, all of them hurted. Got a lot of ovations from JYP's players bench.

    09:58
And just 6 seconds later, JYP draws another penalty. Juuso Pulli goes to the box for Hooking. 5 on 3 for Frölunda for 1:54 now.

    09:52
Frölunda turn the puck and create a turnover. Tarkki makes a save and after the whistle, JYP's Nolan Yonkman draws an unnecessary Roughing penalty. Frölunda have the 5 on 4-advantage now.

    09:25
JYP creates a great turnover when Janne Kolehmainen whipped the puck on the goal and Aleksi Salonen almost put the rebound into the net. Johansson made a great save, though, and later the play got whistled because of a JYP player in the goal crease.

    08:20
With barely nine minutes played of the first period, we have gotten to see a high-intense game with a lot of speed so far. Frölunda has been the dominant team with a lot of the ice time in offensive zone. When JYP has tried to turn the puck over they haven't gotten far into the offensive zone.
    05:50. Ryan LASCH - 1:0

    05:50
    Frölunda take a 1-0-lead!
Patrik Carlsson makes a pass to RYAN LASCH who tries to pass, but the puck goes into the net via a JYP defender.
Assisted by: Patrik Carlsson & Oscar Fantenberg

    04:50
Both Nicklas Lasu, Frölunda, and Juuso Pulli, JYP, goes to the box for 2 minutes for Roughing.

    04:50
Nicklas Lasu got the chance in the slot and tried the wrister, but Tarkki could save and hold on to the puck. When Lasu made his appearence up front to take a potential rebound, JYP's Juuso Pulli stood up for his goaltender and a little fight occured between the two.

    04:00
4 minutes into the game Frölunda have an 7-1-advance in shots on goal.

    03:03
Frölunda continues with their high-speed, passing and offensive game plan. Really great start from the home team. Just recently the line with Robin Figren – Mattias Janmark – Artturi Lehkonen helt the puck offensively, but again; Tarkki has started really good in the net.

    02:16
JYP turn the puck over and creates a chance where d-man Sami Niku tries the wrister from the blue line through traffic. But Lars Johansson in Frölunda's makes an easy save.

    01:40
On the ice, Frölunda start the game really good. The line with Spencer Abbott – Johan Sundström – Andreas Johnson had a great attack recently with a few heavy shots. But Tuomas Tarkki in the net for JYP Jyväskylä make some solid saves.

When the game starts here in Frölundaborg (which, by the way, is Frölunda's second arena) the atmosphere is really good. The supporter groups Sektion84 and Goa Gubbar starts the evening splendid in the crowd.

    00:01
    Game started.

Both teams are on the ice now and we are getting ready for the first face off.

With four minutes to the first off, the players of Frölunda enter the ice to the intro song "Till Scandinavium".

Both teams have now entered the ice for warmups.

For Frölunda, Oliver Lauridsen will rest due to a minor injury he got in a exhibition game against BIK Karlskoga two days ago.
John Dahlström won't be playing either.
Instead, team captain Joel Lundqvist is back on the lineup tonight.

In JYP, the only one that played last game against Sheffield Steelers but not will be playing tonight is d-man Valtteri Hietanen.
Instead, Darryl Boyce will be back in the lineup.
