Djurgården Stockholm

Tonight's battle for the second place in Group B proved to become a real fight, indeed, offering all sorts of emotions on and off the ice.
The visiting team of Djurgarden Stockholm were off to the far better start. They opened the score 16 minutes into the game with a shorthander by Henrik Eriksson and doubled their lead after 33 minutes, thanks to a remarkable goal by Robin Alvarez. When Alexander Fallstrom converted one of Djurgarden's powerplays to make it a 3-0 lead for his team with just over 15 minutes on the clock, little seemed to be in favour of the home team. But they found their way back into the game. When they finally succeeded in scoring in this competition, they did it twice within 48 seconds ! They gave their all in the last ten minutes to get their equalizer. Djurgarden managed to save their 1-goal lead until the end though.
For EV Zug it will be very hard to qualify for the playoffs now, while Djurgarden Stockholm improved their situation in the table, being just two point shy of leaders Tappara Tampere after winning three points tonight.
The two teams of EV Zug and Durgarden will meet again on 4th September 2015 in Stockholm. (22:40:34)
