Thursday 03.09.2015, 12:00Champions Hockey League gameday liveblog

    Welcome. Event starts at 12:00.

So here we are, all ready on Game Day 5 of the 2015/16 CHL! There's a lot of stuff that could potentially happen today, so it's worth having a read over two of our articles:

    The possible results

    Today's games previewed
Last tickets on tale in Kosice!

All set in Helsinki, as HIFK play n their real home for the first time this season!

HV71 are in Denmark and doing a little bit of media ahead of their game tonight.

Espoo fans have arrived in... Geneva? That's not correct, we hear you say! They're on their way to Grenoble!

    Jerseys... ready!

    35 minutes until puck drops!
And as we prepare for today's games to get going, other teams are on the way for tomorrow's!

Dusseldorf fans have arrived in Turku!

It's Bili Tygri Liberec – HK Nitra, just 10 minutes away!

So let the evening begin – at 4pm! We're done with the pre-game formalities in Liberec, now the hockey is on!

No goals yet in Liberec so not a great deal to tell you- a good crowd in from Nitra though, they've supported their team excellently in this CHL campaign.

Remember that in this game the onus is really on Nitra to go and win the game, especially with their terrible goal-difference against Liberec. Should the Slovaks win, they need to hope that the Tigers lose in regulation away to Skelleftea in the group's final game.

9 minutes to play in the opening period, still no score.

Opening goal – and it's gone the way of Liberec! Martin Bakos gets the PP marker.

That does us for one in Liberec – hosts up by a goal.

Period two has started in Liberec.

    Warming-up in JYP now!

Fans are also celebrating hockey time in Helsinki!

It's not looking good for Nitra now – they've gone 2-0 with just a few seconds left in the middle period.

It's almost 17:30, which means we're live with THREE more games!

    IFK Helsinki vs. Linkoping
    TPS Turku vs. Dusseldorf
    JYP vs. Frolunda
    Good view!

Bit of a crowd waiting to get in up in Hamar!

Here's that line again from another angle – big crowd!

Teams are back out for the final period in Liberec. Nitra need to score three without reply (as it stands) to avoid being eliminated.

10 minutes until things go live in Kosice vs. Klagenfurt!

    Goal for TPS!

We've also had a goal in Helsinki, where IFK lead Linkoping 1-0. Oh, and Frolunda have gone a goal ahead in JYP too!

Dusseldorf have levelled the game up in Turku, one each there now.

Period one ends then in Turku with the scores level – while in Kosice it's just started.

We've also just head the period one buzzer in Helsinki, with IFK 1-0 to the good against Linkoping.
Frolunda have the lead after 20 minutes against JYP.

And that is the end of the CHL this season for Nitra. They've lost 2-0 in Liberec, meaning that they can no longer make the next round.
Line-up for Geneva in Hamar tonight...

Still 35 minutes to go before face-off, look at that crowd in Hamar!

We're back underway in the three Finnish-hosted games that started at 17:30.
As teams warm up in Stavanger, where KalPa are the visitors, we have an equalising goal for JYP vs. Frolunda!

No goals in the opening period in Kosice, where Klagenfurt simply have to win in regulation.

What a slapshot that was from Gustav Forsling to tie the game for Linkoping in Helsinki!

"Oilers have played very same kind of hockey in their home games and in away games. Small size of rink is challenge to us, size is minimum size and in Kuopio we have a maximum size rink. In small rink it´s important to win one on one battles and rebounds. Key thing to this game for us is how we succeed prepare us mentally. Only thing we chase tonight, is win!" so says KalPa assistant coach Tommi Miettinen with just 10 minutes to go until his side's game in Stavanger.

Frolunda are back in the lead away to JYP, leading 2-1 there. Both teams are already through to the next round, though.

Period two now underway in the Kosice-Klagenfurt game.

At 19:00, we start with the following games:

    SonderjyskE Vojens – HV71 Jonkoping
    Stavanger Oilers – KalPa Kuopio
    Storhamar Hamar – Geneve-Servette
    ERC Ingolstadt – Vaxjo Lakers

Nichlas Hardt has just put Linkoping ahead now in Helsinki – a game that HIFK really cannot afford to lose in the race for the next round. Less than a minute to play there in the middle period, while in Turku it's still all square between TPS and Dusseldorf after two.

End of two in Helsinki, and Linkoping lead 2-1. It's also advantage Sweden in the JYP-Frolunda game, with the Gothenburg side ahead by the same score.
Warm up in Krefeld, where Vienna are he visitors.

Dusseldorf fans have been in fine voice – and dress – in Turku!

We have a goal in Kosice – and it's the home side that have scored it – they lead the KAC 1-0, and the visitors now have it all to do to avoid elimination.

We're back out for period three now in the 17:30 starts, i.e. the games in Finland!

The game in Krefeld starts in a couple of minutes, where Vienna really need a result!

16s left on the clock in period one, and Storhamar have the lead! Some goal as well, Alexander REICHENBERG hitting a bouncing puck n the half-volley to send it thundering into the net!
Farjestad vs. Pardubice is the last game of the day to get going at 20:00 CET. Here they are warming up...

So we're through 20 minutes now in all of the 7pm starts, and the only goal was that one in Storhamar. In Krefeld, the home side are up a goal early doors against Vienna.

The result up in Helsinki is currently good news for Bern. If things stay as they are, Helsinki will be finished and be 1 point ahead, with Bern playing at home against a Linkoping squad that's already got 1st place secured.

HIFK have got one minute left to keep control of their own destiny in the group, and call a time-out, although the face-off is in their own end.

Late drama in Helsinki, IFK are going on the PP inside the last minute.

Joel Lundqvist puts Frolunda 4-1 away to JYP, so that game is now probably beyond doubt.

Helsinki throw everything at the Linkoping defence, but it's not enough – the visitors hold on for a 2-1 lead and book themselves a spot in the next round.

We're also headed to a shootout now in Turku.

Storhamar have gone 2-0 up now against Geneva, Skadsdammen scoring early in the middle period.

Krefeld let in three goals in five minutes to go 3-1 down to Vienna! They've switched net minders, and just pulled the deficit back now to one.

Dusseldorf have won the shootout and take the game in Turku 2-1. That means Linz are eliminated without stepping on the ice, and DEG go through to the next round.

Goal in Ingolstadt, and it's good news for the Braehead Clan – Vaxjo take the lead!

The Farjestad – Pardubice game has now started. Up in Vojens, SonderjyskE have scored to go 1-0 up against HV71.

Hang on a minute, what's going on in Kosice? Klagenfurt have equalised. They need a win to go level on points with their hosts and tie them on head-to-head, with one game still lot play.

A tied game now in Vojens – HV71 back level.

Spoke too soon there didn't we – Ross ties the game again in Ingolstad!

    The story so far:

Liberec 2-0 Nitra (Nitra are eliminated)
TPS Turku 1-2 SO Dusseldorf (Linz are eliminated)
JYP Jyvaskyla 1-4 Frolunda (Frolunda win group)
Helsinki IFK 1-2 Linkoping (Linkoping win group)
    END OT Kosice 1-1 Klagenfurt

    END2 Ingolstad 3-2 Vaxjo
    2ND Krefeld 2-3 Vienna
    1ST Farjestad 0-0 Pardubice

It's all over in Kosice! The home side win the shootout and book their place in the next round, while the CHL says goodbye to the KAC for this season with one game to go.

It's all unravelling for Vienna – they've now let in a shorty to trail Krefeld 4-3.

The vast majority of the 5,335 people in Storhamar are loving tonight's game – they are now 5-1 ahead vs. Geneva!

A big hit on Daniel Pieta has seen him possibly knocked-out cold on the ice. Mario Fischer has been assessed a major penalty for Checking to the Head.

So in Krefeld, the hosts have another 2:19 to go on the PP, with just over seven minutes left in the period. Vienna need to score and get this to OT at the least.

A couple of goals to update you about from Scandinavia – Stavanger are now 2-0 on KalPa, and HV71 are now 2-1 ahead in Vojens.

Back in Krefeld, Hauner scores on the PP to put his side 5-3 ahead.

Ingolstad now leading Vaxjo 4-2, and if they get a win here will eliminate Braehead and qualify for the next round.

HV71 have won 2-1 in Vojens, meaning that SonderjyskE are now eliminated from the CHL this season. The SHL side are now confirmed to win the group, too.

Sometimes you just have to admire great sporting performances – hats off to Storhamar Hamar. They've not only qualified from a group contain Sparta Prague and Geneve-Servette, they've won the group! 5-1 the win tonight.

We now have a result in Ingolstad, and the hosts have beaten Vaxjo 5-3 to get their place in the next round and eliminate Braehead at the same time. After two periods in Farjestad, Pardubice are up by a pair!

This game in Krefeld just keeps giving... Vienna have brought t back to FIVE ALL!

Another swing of the pendulum in Krefeld – what a rocket from Whitmore of Vienna, and they now lead 6-5!

Farjestad are back in their home game with Pardubice, pulling it back to 1-2 with around ten minute left to play.

What a game in Krefeld – and Vienna have come away with a 6-5 win and advance to the next round!
Not long to go in the last game of the day, Farjestad trailing Pardubice by a goal.

John PERSSON has tied the game for Farjestad with 20s to go, playing with the empty net too!
