Lulea will continue their journey in the CHL, but they will have to win the next game against Lukko Rauma to finish on the top-spot of this group K.
Two defenders of Lulea are losing the puck at their own blueline against MARC-ANTOINE POULIOT. The attacker scores with a perfect shot to the upper left corner! Fribourg leads again, 4-3.
This situation did not even seem dangerous. But in the end it's a goal. PETER CEHLARIK intercepts a puck behind the goal and his trick is good enough to create the surprise of Conz. The puck slides under his pad and over the goal line. 3-3.
Fribourg came out on the ice and this time they dominated Lulea in the first minutes of the period. After the deserved second goal scored by Bykov on a nice breakaway, Lulea managed to come back. The holder of the CHL title had several decent scoring chances and then it was CTS Micflikier, always very dangerous when he is on the ice, who levelled the score again.
But the period wasn't over yet. Only 2.8 seconds before the horn ended these 20 minutes of play, Sprunger was laft alone in the slot during a Powerplay situation for Fribourg and the number 86 of the dragons fired home the third. Fribourg in the lead after 40 minutes, the third period will be interesting – for sure!

This was a fast one. Perfect Powerplay goal for Fribourg with only two seconds left in the period. JULIEN SPRUNGER gets the puck in a central position and beats Larsson with a hard slapshot. Assisted: Salminen. New score 3-2.
Lulea can level the score. Wonderful combination between Sandstrom, Rajala and in the end its the CTS JACOB MICFLIKIER who finds the net for the 2-2. Assisted by: Toni Rajala and Jan Sandstrom.
It seems like no one in Luleå knows what they're supposed to do"
Breakaway chance for ANDREJ BYKOV and the attacker scores top-shelf! Unassisted.
Lulea Hockey with the better start and the opening goal which came shortly after a harmless Powerplay. The one timer from Sandstrom was nice and Conz had not enough time to get on this one.
The swiss side needed some time to react but then they came straight back into this game with the equalizer from Salminen.
Everything is open after the first 20 minutes, we will be right back for the next period.
Score 1-1
Shots on goal 13-11
Penalty minutes 4-6
Only a few seconds later, the Swedish keeper is beaten. Rathgeb finds SAKARI SALMINEN who scores the equalizer! Assisted by: Yannick Rathgeb. 1-1.
And then the puck is in the net. Just when Pluss came back from the penalty box, JAN SANDSTROM can score from a short angle after assists from Marcus Oskarsson and Johan Harju.
Daniel Larsson is today the starting goalkeeper instead of Joel Lassinantti. No surprises for Fribourg, coach Gerd Zenhausern starts with a quite similar rooster as he did in the last round.

On the other end, Lulea Hockey is still fighting to get the top spot in this group and trying to start the playoff stage in the best position as they are trying to defend their CHL-title won in 2015 against Frölunda.
In Switzerland the national championship is about to start in a week, so Fribourg will take this game as the last serious match in the preparation campaign before meeting HC Davos (september 11, away at Vaillant Arena) and Kloten Flyers (september 12, home at BCF-Arena). After a very disappointing last season, the team is looking to make it a better one this year and a good start could help a lot.
Lulea Hockey has to wait one week longer before playing the first match in the swedish SHL on september 17 against Växjö Lakers.
