Trailing by 2 goals, Red Bull Salzburg are ready to attempt a comeback tonight, and they're ready for the usual large crowd of Storhamar home fans as well.

HV71 and Ocelari Trinec both ready for tonight's game in Jonkoping with the aggregate score tied at 2. Despite that, HV71's Erik Andersson looks relaxed.

The first game up is HC Litvinov hosting the Vienna Capitals with a 1-goal lead. Horak starts in goal. Here's their lineup for tonight:

Getting Oulun Energia Areena ready for tonight's Karpat – Dusseldorf tilt. Karpat enter the game with a 2-goal lead, and have only surrendered 1 goal in 5 CHL games to date.

JYP jerseys hung with care. They face Finnish rivals TPS in Turku tonight, with the aggregate score tied 2-2 entering that one. It gets under way at 18:30 Finnish time, 17:30 CET.

Under an hour to go now before we get going with the opening games!
The Liberec club confirms that Marek Schwarz will again start in goal. In the first game he stopped 24 of 25 in a 4-1 win. This time, he just has to keep his team within 2 goals of Linkoping to put the White Tigers through to the next round.

So as a reminder, it's all 16 (!) games in the Round of 32 today... meaning that we lose half of the teams left in the competition.

No German side has made it as far as the last 16 yet in the CHL, so look out for those games in particular tonight.
    Calm before the storm!

In Zurich, or Curych, Sparta will start tonight's game with a one-goal lead.

Don't you just love these arena pictures in the empty hours before a game?

So it's the Zimní Stadion Ivana Hlinky where we head for the opening game of today! Litvinov host Vienna, with a 4-3 lead on aggregate from the opening leg.

Still scoreless in Litvinov, but now we see another four games get underway:

    Skelleftea AIK – HC Kosice
    Karpat Oulu – Dusseldorfer EG
    Tappara Tampere – Vitkovice Ostrava
    TPS Turku – JYP Jyvaskyla

Period one over in Litvinov, no score. Vienna still trail by one on aggregate, and have 40 minutes to do something about it.

1:36 on the clock in Oulu, and we have the first goal of the day! Sebastian AHO puts Karpat 1-0 up on the night, extending their aggregate lead to three.

    Done deal already?

Saku MAENALANEN makes it 2-0 Karpat at 5:02, putting them 4-0 ahead on aggregate.

Would take a huge comeback from DEG here...

Back on the ice in Litvinov, with Vienna looking for a goal to draw level on aggregate.

12:22 played in Turku, and JYP are a goal ahead through Tuomas PIHLMAN. That game was two each on aggregate, so the winner tonight will win the tie.

It's all gone totally wrong for Dusseldorf in Oulu. They now trail 3-0 in period one, 5-0 on aggregate, to Karpat.

    20 minutes down...

    Skelleftea 0-0 Kosice (Agg: 3-4)
    Karpat 3-0 Duffeldorf (Agg: 5-0)
    TPS 0-1 JYP (Agg: 2-3)
    Tappara 1-0 Vitkovice (Agg: 3-0)

All of those games are now back out for period two. In Litvinov, we still have no score in the game vs. Vienna after 40 minutes now. The Capitals have a period to try and level the tie.

Kosice are hanging on up in Skelleftea, but still keep the game scoreless. Over in Finland, TPS are back level with JYP to draw the tie to three each.
26-5 the shots in favour of Skelleftea!

Up in Hamar, 30 minutes to go...

Rotislav OLESZ tis the game for Vitkovice in Tappara, bringing it back to 1-3 on aggregate. Momentum changer?
As the teams warm up in Vaxjo, Dave SPINA scores with 31:36 on the clock in Turku to turn that game on its head – TPS lead 2-1, and the tie by 4-3.

Janne Pesonen has scored a huge goal in Skelleftea for SAIK... that puts them 1-0 up tonight, and levels the tie at 4-4!

BIG goal in Litvinov – and it's gone to Vienna! Rafael ROTTER, who's currently serving an EBEL ban in his own league, has scored with 14:40 to play to level the tie at four each. 1-0 Vienna lead on the night.

Jan-Mikael JARVINEN puts Tappara back in the lead against Ostrava, and extends his side aggregate lead to 4-1.

Peter Jansky has made Vienna's joy in Litvinov short-lived... the hosts level the game, and go back ahead by one in the tie.

    As things stand

Before we get going with more games at 7pm, here's the deal with the early ones that are now through 40 minutes:

    Skelleftea 1-0 Kosice (Agg: 4-4)
    Karpat 3-0 Duffeldorf (Agg: 5-0)
    TPS 2-1 JYP (Agg: 4-3)
    Tappara 2-1 Vitkovice (Agg: 4-1)

Meanwhile Litvinov are on a 4 minute PP, tied at 1-1 with Vienna and leading the series 5-4.

9:14 to go in Litvinov, and Vienna are level through a superbly taken SHG from Derek WHITMORE! 2-1 on the night to the Capitals, 5-5 on aggregate.
    SIX more games are underway!

Probably doesn't like being 4-1 down on aggregate much either...

Nightmare start for Linkoping... already 4-1 down to Liberec, the visitors have scored through Michal BIRNER after 26s!

Remember that nightmare start we talked about for Linkoping? Well it's just got doubly worse... Michal REPIK make it 2-0 Liberec and 6-1 on aggregate with less than three minutes played.

    Unseperable

We are heading to overtime in Litvinov – Vienna win the game 2-1, but the tie is level at five each.

    OT Rules

So remember, it's 10 minutes sudden-death 4-on-4, and then a shootout if no-one has scored.

8:35 down in Stavanger, and Petter ROSTE FOSSEN levels it on the night for the Oilers – they trail Berlin by three overall though.

Really tight game in Skelleftea, who lead 1-0 tonight against Kosice – but it's tied overall. 10 minutes to play there.

Commentator's curse – apologies to Kosice fans... Broadhurst on the PP puts Skelleftea 2-0 up tonight, and one-goal ahead now on aggregate.

    Done deal

Litvinov score the OT winner to beat Vienna 6-5 on aggregate!

If you're a Linkoping fan, we advise you to look away now...

Linkoping 0-4 Liberec (Petr ELINEK, 8:59)

That's 8-1 on aggregate, with all of Liberec's goals having come in the first period of both games!

Daniel BRODIN puts Djurgarden one up in Vaxjo, making it 5-3 to the Stockholm side on aggregate. Meanwhile Dave SPINA has completed his hat-trick for TPS to put them 3-1 ahead of JYP.

Just under six minutes to go in Turku, and TPS look to have sewn it up thanks to VIRTA – 4-1 on the night, and 6-3 overall.

    Done deal

Karpat march on with their fifth shutout in six games to beat DEG 3-0, 5-0 on aggregate!

Skelleftea score on the ENG to beat Kosice 3-0 on the night, and 6-4 overall.
    Done deals

Litvinov 2-2 Vienna OT (Agg: 6-5)
    Skelleftea 3-0 Kosice (Agg: 6-4)
    Karpat 3-0 Dusseldorf (Agg: 5-0)
    TPS 4-1 JYP (Agg: 6-3)
    Tappara 2-1 Vitkovice (Agg: 4-1)

    End 1:

    Frolunda 1-0 Ingolstadt (Agg: 3-4)
    Linkoping 0-4 Liberec (Agg: 1-8)
    Vaxjo 0-1 Djurgarden (Agg: 3-5)
Storhamar 1-0 Red Bull Salzburg (Agg: 4-1)
    Stavanger 1-1 Berlin (Agg: 1-4)

The games now in Zurich, Mannheim, Munich, and Davos are live!

    26:54
26 minutes on the clock in Jonkoping, and Markus KLEPIS puts Trinec 1-0 up on the night. They lead 3-2 on aggregate now.

Laurin BRAUN re-establishes Berlin's lead in Stavanger, 2-1 tonight and 5-1 on aggregate.

OOOOOH, momentum shift in Stavanger? Oilers' Kissel puts them 3-2 ahead of Berlin, and now just two behind on aggrigate!

A combination of Luka Gracnar and the post keeps Stavanger just one ahead of Salzburg tonight, but 4-1 on aggregate.

Elsewhere HV71 have drawn level against Trinec, as have Vaxjo vs. Djurgarden – although the latter still trail on aggregate. In Linkoping, Branko RADIVOJEVIC puts Liberec up 5-1!

Travis MULOCK ties the game for Berlin in Stavanger with 1s left on period two. Three each there tonight, 6-3 Eisbaren on aggregate.

Another late goal! Ilkka HEIKKINEN also scores at 39:59 to put Vaxjo 2-1 up on Djurgarden. Now the Lakers trail are level on aggregate at 5-5 going into the last period!

9"23 on the board in Lulea... and Johan RYNO has got Farjestadt the lead. 1-3 they trail the defending champions on aggregate.

Beat FORSTER puts Davos 2-1 ahead of HIFK early in period two... which means we have a 3-3 tie on aggregate!

Brian FAHEY gets Red Bull Salzburg on the board in Hamar – they've got 15 minutes to find two goals and send this game to OT.

Henrik ERIKSSON levels the game for Djurgarden in Vaxjo, putting the visitors back ahead on aggregate.

Oh what a turnaround in Vaxjo! Just 90s after tying the game, Matt ANDERSON puts Djurgarden in the lead! VAX now trail by two on aggregate... 1:30 ago they were level.

Corey Elkins ties a real seesaw game in Davos, to draw HIFk level at two each. That puts the Helsinki-side back ahead by one on aggregate.

Chris ABBOTT puts HV71 ahead for the first time tonight in their home game with Trinec. That game was tied after the first leg, meaning simply that whoever wins tonight goes through.

In Linkoping, the home side are back to 3-5 down against Liberec as the desperately try to salvage some pride.

Eight minutes to play in Vaxjo, and the Lakres are level on the night thanks to Calle ROSEN. They still need another goal to send it to OT on the aggregate score though.

HV71 get goal 3 against Trinec on the ENG, and that looks like it'll be enough to see them through.

What a BIG goal this is – Frolunda level it on aggregate with Ingolstadt at 59:49 thanks to Lukas BENGTSSON. They lead 3-1 on the night, so it's five each overall. OT there...

    Done deals!

Storhamar win 3-2 thanks to an ENG, and go through 6-3 on aggregate! They'll now face giants TPS Turku!

HV71 beat Trinec 3-1 to go through 5-3 overall.

Djurgarden hold on to a 3-all tie in Vaxjo, meaning they knock out the SHL play-off champions 7-6!

Stavanger's CHL adventure is over for this year, as Eisbaren Berlin become the first DEL side to make the last 16 – 6-3 on aggregate.

    Story so far...

    - All of the EBEL teams have now been eliminated.
    - Berlin are the first DEL side to reach the last 16
    - Storhamar are the last GETLigaen side standing the CHL
    - Both NLA sides remaining are behind, meaning they could both miss out on the next round

Where's that come from??! Lulea are suddenly 3-0 down at home to Farjestad, which means the tie is now at three each of aggregate. Defending champions on the ropes?

    Where we're at...

    END 2 Lulea 0-3 Farjestad (Agg: 3-3)

    In period 3:

    Mannheim 2-1 Espoo (Agg: 3-5)
Red Bull Munich 0-2 Lukko Rauma (Agg: 3-7)
Davos 3-2 IFK Helsinki (Agg: 4-4)
ZSC Lions 0-3 Sparta Prague (Agg: 2-6)

Catching up with an earlier game, it's finished Linkoping 3-6 Liberec... a somewhat humiliating 10-4 aggregate defeat for the SHL side.

Goal Lukko, 3-0 up in Munich and leading 8-3 on aggregate. Home and dry it seems now.
    Done deal

36s to go in Mannheim, and Ryan MACMURCHY makes it 3-1 to the home side. They need just one more goal to force OT...

    Done deal

Well that drama was short-lived, as Espoo hit back through Ville KORHONEN at 59:59 to seal the tie 6-4 on aggregate.

Davos score? Goal is under review!

The goal is good – Dario SIMION scores for Davos to put them 4-2 up on the night, and 5-4 ahead on aggregate!

    Done deal

After all the hype about Auston Matthews, it's Sparta Prague who win this CHL tie, and perhaps more comfortably than you'd have thought. 3-0 winners in Zurich tonight, they go through 6-2 on aggregate!

    Done deal

Davos are through! The ENG makes it safe, and they win tonight 5-2... which makes an aggregate victory of 6-4. What a result!

That makes Davos the only NLA representatives in the Last 16, and is the first time a side from the Liiga has been knocked out by a team not from the SHL or their own league.

So, it's all eyes on the last game running – Lulea and Farjestad looked in at three each on aggregate.

48:58 on the board in Lulea, and the home side are back on track. Brendan MIKKELSON brings the score back to 1-3, meaning they're 4-3 up on aggregate.

Still playing in Lulea – one goal for Farjestad would force OT. (22:20:39)
And that is your lot for tonight!
