CHL gameday liveblog 20.8.

Saturday 20.08.2016, 13:00Champions Hockey League gameday liveblog

Lastly tonight it's a win for Fribourg, a goal each period seeing them beat Munich 3-0. (22:07:53)

It's over in Kosice, and Linz have won it 3-2! That is a HUGE result, with Kosice now having lost both of their home games.

While Salzburg continue to rip Sheffield apart in the final period there, Linz have just gone ahead again in Kosice!

It's a win for Krefeld, that could be big in the context of that group.

Finally the deadlock has been broken in Krefled – Marcel Muller puts the home team ahead with 6:40 or so to go.

A battling effort from Sheffield, but they conceded another and are 4-1 behind now in Sheffield with one period to play. Looks like it's a step too far for them now.

Elsewhere Linz are back level in Kosice, and Fribourg have doubled their lead over Munich.

Wow, Kosice have hit straight back – Gabriel SPILAR and Jakub SUJA within a minute of each other to put their team 2-1 now of Linz.

Sheffield have one back in Salzburg, while over in Fribourg the first period is completed – hosts lead Munich by a single goal.

It's scoreless after two in Krefeld against Vitkovice, meaning the hosts have now played 100 minutes without a CHL goal this season.

There's also bene a goal in Kosice – 22:54 played and Fabio HOFER has put Linz ahead. Very interesting for the group, which Bern will probably top.

Disaster for Sheffield in Salzburg, two quick goals at the start of the middle session and they're down by three.

Miroslav Indrak make it 3-0 to Pilsen, and they are home and dry in Stavanger – 3 excellent road points for them there.

Period 1 is over in Salzburg where the Red Bulls lead 1-0 over Sheffield, while in Kosice the hosts and Black Wings Linz are tied with no goals.

Sheffield are behind in Salzburg to, you guessed it, another powerplay goal. Meanwhile Flavio SCHMUTZ has given Fribourg an early lead over Munich. Remember a Swiss team has yet to lose in this season's CHL!

KalPa have pulled one back at home to Skelleftea as that game goes into the middle period break – the same is also true up in Stavanger, where Pilsen lead 2-0.

Games have just got going in Salzburg (vs. Sheffield) and Kosice (vs. Linz).

Two teams now leading 2-0 – Kubalik strikes again for Pilsen in Stavanger, while Skelleftea are now up by the same score away to KalPa.

Pilsen lead in Stavanger, and with 27:06 played in KalPa Hendrik HETTA gives Skelleftea a one goal advantage too. No goals in the Krefeld-Vitkovice game as of yet.

So it's two wins from as many matches for ZSC Lions, and 7/7 for Swiss teams in the CHL. They win 4-1 in Ingolstadt to put themselves in a great position in that group.

ZSC Lions look home and dry in Ingolstadt now, 4-1 up in the final period.

End of one period in both 18:00 starts, and no goals in either game.

So as we await our first goal in the 6pm starts, let's just reflect a bit on what's going on in Ingolstadt.

Trailing 3-1 after two periods, the Panthers are now left with the possibility of needing to score more points than Lukko Rauma in their remaining two games, against the Finns, to qualify if they lose this one.

So, ZSC lead now in Ingolstadt by 2-1 as the middle session draws to a close. In 5 minutes, we're live with KalPa vs. Skelleftea, and Stavanger at home to Pilsen.
