"We have a very tough opponent with Tampere, but after our opening loss we are looking for a reaction from our team to keep us in with a chance," said head coach Sean Simpson ahead of tonight's game.
For Tappara, tonight marks their first game of the competition, something forward Jere Karjalainen is looking forward to. "It's good to be back playing CHL games against a couple of really tough teams. Starting with away games we get to have a nice little trip with the guys and see more than just our home rink, and that gives us a boost for sure. I'm very eager to see the crowd in Mannheim – we've been hearing a lot about it beforehand," he said.

That was pretty quick, the Eagles have a two-goal lead out of the blue! After a great no-look pass by Wolf, CHAD KOLARIK finds himself in between the circles and gives Lassila no chance! Assisted by David Wolf.
Mannheim is slowly starting to take the game away! RYAN MACMURCHY taps the puck home after a nice feed by the home-team star Marcel Goc. Assisted by Marcel Goc, Christoph Ullmann.
3rd period starts at 19:37 CET.
Tappara gets on the board midway through the third period! After the draw, is able to find JANI LAJUNEN free in the left circle and the Finnish national team player makes no mistake. Assisted by Jukka Peltola, Otso Rantakari.
A bit of luck for the home team here and Adler finds an immediate answer! This goal had to be approved by the video referee because CHRISTOPH ULLMANN directed the puck behind Lassila with his body. Assisted by: Ryan MacMurchy, Nikolai Goc.
