Wednesday 07.09.2016, 13:00Champions Hockey League gameday liveblog

    Welcome. Event starts at 13:00.

We're minutes from getting underway in Ostrava.

Vitkovice hosts the Krefeld Pinguine, with a spot in the Round of 32 on the line. Vitkovice must win in regulation time.

    And we're underway in Ostrava . . .

Another game in the Czech Republic starts in 30 minutes: Dynamo Pardubice vs Grizzlys Wolfsburg.

    GOAL!

Quick start for Vitkovice, as Lukas Kucera hits the top corner just 1:10 in.

    GOAL!

2-0 Vitkovice, as it's taken them less than 6 minutes to even the aggregate score, which could come into play at the end. Lukas Kovar fires it off the crossbar and in.

    GOAL!

And it's ANOTHER one for Vitkovice, who now lead Krefeld by 3-0. This is huge in terms of the final group standings, as the Ostrava side now win the 'Head-to-Head' against the Penguins if the two teams finish level on points. As things stand, Vitkovice will leapfrog their German opponents by 1pt.

Under way in Pardubice, as they host Grizzly's Wolfsburg

    GOAL!

Pardubice on the board, and need just five more to level their 'Head-to-Head' with Pardubice.

20 minutes done in Ostrava, and Vitkovice lead Krefeld by 3-0. Fantastic start for them.

Decent pressure here from Pardubice as they look to another... still 1-0 though.

So if Pardubice win this, they go two points ahead of Wolfsburg who have a game still to play away to Frolunda. Currently an OT Win would do for Wolfsubrg as they have a far better 'Head-to-Head' against Dynamo.

As the buzzer sounds for the end of 20 minutes in Pardubice, the teams are back on the ice in Ostrava.

    GOAL!

Krefeld pull one back in Ostrava, Vitkovice still with the 3-1 lead though.

Teams back on the ice for period two in Pardubice.

40 minutes down now in Ostrava, and Vitkovice still hold a 3-1 lead.

    GOAL!

Pardubice double their lead thanks to a fantastic snapshot from Michal Barta!

Final period in session over in Ostrava, where Vitkovice lead 3-1 over Krefeld.

    GOAL!

Herberts VASILJEVS has scored for Krefeld, meaning that Vitkovice lead just 3-2 now!

So as our two games n the Czech Republic near their end, we have just 7 minutes until HV71 visit Red Bull Salzburg.

    GOAL!

Vitkovice back ahead with a two-goal cushion as Karol Sloboda scores with around 10 minutes left to play in the final period.

Goal for Pardubice? It's going upstairs...

    GOAL!

The video review proves that the puck went in the net before it was knocked off, so Pardubice lead 3-0... and there is the period end!

In case you're trying to keep track, the Head-to-Head advantage in the Vitkovice-Krefeld game now lays with the hosts as they lead 4-2.

The game over in Salzburg has now started – a point for the Red Bulls against HV71 puts them through and eliminates Sheffield.

2:30 to play in Ostrava, and Krefeld have pulled the goalie at 4-2 down... why? Because they need to get goals back or else they'll lose the aggregate score if they are tied overall on points with Vitkovice.

    GOAL!

Huge goal for Krefeld, VASILJEVS again!

That goal makes the head-to-head 5-4 in favour of Krefeld, should the teams finish level on points.

    GOAL!

Vitkovice score on the empty net as Krefeld try and get the point they need to qualify.

    GOAL!

9:15 played in Salzburg, Martin 10. TORN BERG gives HV71 an early lead.

That's it – Vitkovice win to go a point ahead of Krefeld. The Penguins visit Karpat Oulu in their final game needing to win.

    GOAL!

45:28 played in Pardubice, and Dynamo make it 4-0 thanks to Justin Hodgman. Two more and they level the aggregate.

Also time for our final two games of the evening to get going... Lugano vs. Mannheim and Skelleftea vs. Vienna

    GOAL!

A couple to tell you about – Salzburg are level at home to HV71, Mannheim have taken the lead in Lugano, and Pardubice hit 5 against Wolfsburg.

    GOAL!

Wolfsburg pull one back, they trail 5-1 but more importantly have pegged Pardubice back to two behind on the aggregate scoring between teams.

    GOAL!

Pardubice now 6-1 ahead, crazy game! And up in Sweden, Vienna are leading by one in Skelleftea.

Vienna have scored another up in Skelleftea and now lead 2-0! Elsewhere Salzburg and HV71 are tied at one each and now playing the middle period, while Mannheim lead Lugano by one after 20 minutes.

    GOAL!

HV71 back in front in Salzburg, 2-1 there.

    GOAL!

That lead didn't last long though for HV71... Brett Olson, shorthanded, has levelled the scores again.

    GOAL!

It's a real seesaw game in Salzburg, HV71 ahead now for a third time, 3-2.

Lugano Coach Doug Sheddan isn't exactly very happy with his team's performance so far. We won't repeat what he said during the powerbreak, but you can probably guess the sort of words!

    GOAL!

29:26 played in Lugano, Alessio Bertaggia tried a move which doesn't really work, then dives down to poke the puck home! One all hockey game with Mannheim.

Two periods done in Salzburg, where HV71 lead 3-2.

Meanwhile over in Lugano, the home side have moved to 2-1 ahead; and in Sweden Vienna lead Skelleftea by 3!

    GOAL!

Just before the period break in Lugano, Ryan Macmurchy getting one of the most fortunate goals you'll see to tie the game. The puck deflecting off the back glass into the crease for Macmurchy to bat home!

    How things stand

    Lugano 2-2 Mannheim (End 2)
    Salzburg 2-3 HV71 (End 2)
    Skelleftea 0-3 Vienna (In 2)

Well who saw this coming – Vienna are now 4-0 up in Skelleftea!

Back on the ice in Salzburg and Lugano for the final period!

Such drama going on tonight... Mannheim are now back ahead in Lugano, with a great goal through traffic deflecting in on Marcus Kink.

HV71 now move to 4-2 ahead to Red Bull Salzburg... should they hold on, Sheffield stay alive.

HV71 at an ENG in Salzburg to go 5-2 up and will win the game. They keep their perfect record alive.

Skelleftea get themselves on the board, but they trail Vienna 4-1 in the final period.

    GOAL!

Lugano tie the game! Patrick ZACKRISSON, with 1:08 left n the clock, levels the scores.

    Done deal!

Lugano get a point, which is enough to qualify them for the next round. ALL SIX SWISS TEAMS HAVE QUALIFIED!

    Playing OT now in Lugano...

    GOAL!

Lugano not only qualify, but win their group as Linus Klasen wrists home at 62:12!

    GOAL!

It's all done in Skelleftea, Vienna score on the ENG to go 5-2 ahead!

So that is your lot for tonight's CHL action, on an evening where both Czech teams won to keep themselves alive, Lugano won their group, and Vienna & HV71 got 5-2 road wins! (22:38:01)
