- The game started really badly. We didn't play as we planned to play. We were not ready in the beginning. We made really hard for ourselves. We planned to play the first ten minutes hard, but it was nothing like that for us. We knew that IFK will play tough and hard, but we were not ready for it. It is a good sign that we were able to hang into the game even though our game wasn't good. Third period was our best.
Thoughts about second game next week in Helsinki:
- I like to play in "Nordis" (nickname for IFK's home arena) and there is always a good atmosphere. We need to start that game better and be better prepared from beginning.
- These CHL games are a lot of fun and it is great to play against top european teams. It is easy to find the energy to these games. We always want to win. (20:47:14)

"Elkins is winning faceoffs with good percentage."
"Let's just say that it was a calculated play through the end boards from Heikkinen during that equalizer."
