Trashorras with a dangerous free kick cross from about 25 metres distance towards the left post, the ball then comes back into the middle after the guests fail to clear the situation and ALBERTO BUENO deflects a hard shot from about 20 metres distance by Trashorras past Yoel – though from a position that looked like an offside!
Completely out of the blue ALBERTO BUENO doubles the lead for Rayo with a powerful shot from the right corner of the Celta box into the right bottom corner! But this was such a terrible mistake by Celta goalkeeper Yoel who touched the ball but failed to stop it and it slipped just through his gloves! Incredible!
After the Rayo offense finally set the guests under heavy presure a rebound came to ROCHINA whose volley shot from a sharp angle right to the scond post hit defender Inigo Martinez and went in from there! The 1-0 lead for Rayo comes a bit lucky!

Home team Rayo Vallecano were 14th before the matchday with 33 points in 31 games, with a three point advantage towards the relegation zone. After being in a very difficult situation throughout the whole season, Rayo were able to leave the relegation zone after 13 of 15 points in the games against Valencia CF (H, 1-0), Real Sociedad (A, 3-2), UD Almería (H, 3-1), Real Valladolid (A, 1-1) and CA Osasuna (H, 1-0) before being chanceless in the last away match against Real Madrid (0-5).
Guests Celta de Vigo were 11th before the matchday with 36 points in 31 games and a six point advantage towards the relegation zone. They left the relegation zone themselves during several streaks in January and February of this year. Since March Celta were struggling again though by only winning two of their last six games when they faced Elche CF (A, 0-1), Atlético Madrid (H, 0-2), Levanta UD (A, 1-0), Málaga CF (H, 0-2), FC Barcelona (A, 0-3) and Sevilla FC (H, 1-0).
When both teams met for the first time this season, Rayo had a crucial 2-0 away win in Vigo in early November. Given the teams' current streaks, Rayo are also the favourites tonight in a crucial game to stay in the league but Celta are always good for a surprise!
