It's a crucial game in this Group D and we can really talk about it as a "Group stage final". The home team needs one point to be sure of finishing at the top of the group, meanwhile Djurgarden will advance if they can take the three points in this game.
Both teams are struggling in their respective national leagues, but in the CHL they have played well – on Game Day 5 Fribourg beat Eisbären Berlin on their ice by a score of 2-0 and Djurgarden was able to record a shutout win, 8-0 over Czech champions PSG Zlin.
Important for Fribourg was the return of forward and Cramo Top Scorer Greg "Barracuda" Mauldin, who returned to the ice on Saturday and scored one goal in regulation and also had a goal in the penalty shootout, as Fribourg won against HC Ambri-Piotta. Now the team wants to continue its winning ways and prove that their form is getting better.
This CHL game is a chance for both teams to gain in confidence and maybe qualify for the next round.
