    Deportivo only really found into the match during the last 20 minutes, especially because of the new men Nelson Oliveira and Salomao, while Sevilla goalkeeper Beto had several spectacular saves that kept his team the 3-1 lead. On the other side Sevilla or better said Jesús Navas had several good chances to even make it a higher win.

    For both teams a series continued. While Sevilla gained their fourth consecutive win at home that keeps their European ambitions alive, Deportivo lost their fifth match in a row and they stay at the bottom of the league table for at least another week.

    Sevilla FC receive Deportivo La Coruña for the only match in Spanish La Liga this Friday evening. Both teams couldn't fulfill the expactations so far this season. While Sevilla at least stays out of any major trouble as 11th with 29 points in 23 games, the situation is far worse for the guests from La Coruña who are 20th and thus last of the league table with only 16 points - six points already behind the non-relegation spots.This also led to the decision by the Galicians to fire their head coach Domingos Pacienca and substitute him with Fernando Vázquez.

    Sevilla stayed without an away win for months but they won their last three matches at home against CA Osasuna (1-0), Granada CF (3-0) and Rayo Vallecano (2-1). Their last away win was a 2-0 - against today's opponents from La Coruña. Deportivo themselves have only gained one point in their last five matches and lost all their last four against CA Osasuna (1-2), Valencia CF (2-3), Getafe CF (1-3) and Granada CF (0-3).

    The head-to-head record between the two teams is relatively even. Although Sevilla stayed unbeaten against Deportivo in the last four matches between the two teams, Deportivo gained two draws during their last two visits to Sevilla (1-1, 0-0).

    If Sevilla can start a last serious attempt to get closer to the European spots or if Deportivo can improve their situation at the bottom of the table, we'll see soon.
