Today the best of the best in KHL play against each other when Eastern Conference leaders Avangard Omsk receive Western Conference leaders SKA St. Petersburg. While SKA (113 pts) already won the regular season title of the league, the Continental Cup, Avangard (101 pts) still could lose their first place in the East to Ak Bars Kazan (98 pts).

Avangard had a little negative trend recently with two heavy away losses against Salavat Yulayev Ufa (1-6) and Barys Astana (4-5).
