    The Russians are out of competition after another series of terrible turnovers in the third period. They tried several times a race to catch up but whenever they were about to draw levels with the USA one of their players caused a big mistake.

    For Russia the outcome of this game is a big shock nobody would have expected as they went as clear favourites into this match with the Americans they already had beaten in the group stage and after the addition of superstar Alexander Ovechkin to their roster.
