That's all from the first semifinal, but there's one more today and it promises to be a beauty. Switzerland vs USA. The Swiss haven't won a medal at this tournament since 1953 and nothing higher than a bronze since 1935 (silver). The USA, meanwhile, hasn't won better than a bronze since 1960 (gold). One team will break a lengthy drought with a win.
You can follow that game, as well as both games tomorrow, here at EuroLiveScores.com. (17:20:57)
I don't know how you pass up Henrik Sedin for that, but one hell of a game for Eriksson as well, with 3 points as well.
Finland goes to the bronze medal game tomorrow, while Sweden will play in the championship game at home later.
HENRIK SEDIN hits the empty net from the neutral zone. What a game for the Vancouver Canucks captain--MVP of this game for sure. Assist: Loui Eriksson, Henrik Tallinder.
Shots on goal in the 2nd period (and game): Finland 7 (19), Sweden 8 (19).
3rd period begins at 16:39 CEST, 10:39 EDT.
The Finns know what's coming but they still can't stop it. Henrik Sedin sets up shop behind the net like Gretzky, and with the Finnish PKers frozen he passes to LOUI ERIKSSON in front, who snaps it into the top left corner to make it 2-0. Assists: Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin.
Shots are 6-3 Finland this period.
Shots on goal in the 1st period: Finland 12, Sweden 11.
2nd period begins at 15:48 CEST, 09:48 EDT.
Sedin magic. Henrik gets the puck in the corner and initially looked like he was going to try to find his brother with a pass at the far side of the slot, but his attempt hit the leg of LOUI ERIKSSON in front of the net and went in. Assists: Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin.

Sweden struggled scoring goals initially in the group stage, going 5-2 and finishing 3rd, but the late addition of some NHLers, most notably Daniel and Henrik Sedin, helped them greatly in their quarterfinal win over Canada--the Sedins combined on two third-period power play goals, both scored by Nicklas Danielsson, and Sweden eventually won in a shootout. Through 8 games, they are led with 6 points each by Fredrik Pettersson (3+3) and Louie Ericsson (2+4). Jhonas Enroth is perhaps the biggest reason this team is here, with his play against Canada in the first two periods and the shootout especially. He has the best save percentage in the tournament, tied with Canada's Mike Smith at .944. He has a 1.41 GAA and 1 shutout in 5 games.
The Finns' ride through the group stage went much more smoothly, as they won their group with a 6-1 record, losing only to the Americans. In the quarters, they built up an early lead against Slovakia before holding on to win 4-3. They boast three of the tournament's top 11 scorers, including overall leader Petri Kontiola with 15 points (8+7), Juhamatti Aaltonen with 11 (4+7), and Janne Pesonen with 8 (2+6). Antti Raanta has played 5 of 8 games in goal with a 1.99 GAA, .934 save percentage and 1 shutout.
