		A goal early in the second half by Cavani let Uruguay hope long time for a surprise or at least that they could force extra time but a late header by Paulinho after a corner by Neymar gave the favourites Brazil a late win! In the Confed Cup final Brazil will face the winner of the second semifinal between Spain and Italy.

His clearing attempt inside the own box hit an opponent and then Marcelo wasn't able to stop Cavani from firing the ball into the left bottom corner from about 10 metres distance!

		Outsiders Uruguay showed a great performance in the first half against disappointing Brazilian hosts but were not able to use their few really good opportunities – for example Diego Forlán failed with a penalty shot. Just when everyone expected a draw after 45 minutes a late goal by Fred gave Brazil the lucky lead.

	45+2	Neymar with a free kick cross from a half right position, cleared via header by the Uruguayan defense.
	45+1	Paulinho whose nose is bleeding, has to leave the pitch for further treatment.

	43	After a terrible clearance by David Luiz it was Luis Suárez who almost was able to use it for the equalizer but his shot from short distance went wide!
	41	Goal for Brazil! Out of the blue FRED gives the home side the lead late in the first half! A long ball by Luiz Gustavo found Neymar who was first stopped by Uruguayan goalkeeper Muslera before giving the rebound to Fred who barely touched the ball but it was enough to get it into the right bottom corner with the net half empty!
	39	Very hard entry by Luiz Gustavo (Brazil) against Cristian Rodríguez, earns him a yellow card. The Brazilian wanted to shoot a ball away but missed it and only hit his opponent.

	4	Long throw in by Maxi Pereira and David Luiz isn't able to clear the ball close to the own net but hits a team mate with his header and then the ball is deflected for a corner kick that is executed by Forlán but cleared without problems by the Brazilian defense.
	2	The Brazlians try it with their first attack of the game but Oscar is stopped by Godin close to the Uruguayan 18-yard box and the ball goes out for a goal kick.

		Semifinal #1 of the 2013 Confed Cup will be played between hosts Brazil and Copa America winners Uruguay. The Brazilians showed a lot of highlights during the group stage with three wins in three games against Japan (3-0), Mexico (2-0) and Italy (4-2). On the other side Uruguay had more trouble against Spain (1-2), Nigeria (2-1) and amateurs Tahiti (8-0). Brazil are expected to take the next step in this tournament and qualify for the final game on Sunday – against the winner of the match Spain vs Italy – but Uruguay are one of the national teams they fear most with a very even 14-11-12 record in all competitions.
