    The final buzzer goes and after Day 1 of the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup it is Russia who sit top of Group B. Kirill Pilipenko's 39th minute goal is the difference, as Slovakia, led by a stunning performance in goal by Maximillian Pajpach impress but eventually fall short.
    Game over.
    Slovakia are unable to get the puck out of their zone at all. Nasybullin fires a rocket of a one timer from the point but is denied.
    Pajpach makes yet another save, this time stopping a Lauta wrist shot from the left wing circle.
    That might just be all she wrote. Filip Adamcik takes a two minute hooking penalty with 1:52 left to go in the third period.
    Final two minutes in the third period.
    Novak shoots high and wide when presented with a great chance for a Slovak equaliser.
    It's getting gritty now. A fair few glove punches thrown between players after Pajpach gloves the puck in a scramble.
    Slovakia win the draw and Patrik Koch has a shot from the point, which is saved by Korobov without a rebound.
    The puck sails out of play after Ryzhkov's penalty expires.
    Great powerplay movement by the Slovaks. The puck is worked behind the goal and then Ladislav Romancik is given the puck skating in the puck, but a great pad stop by Korobov denies the Slovak defenceman.
    Slovakia back to full strength.
    Penalty against Russia. Maxim Ryzhkov is given a two minute interference penalty for retaliating against Dominik Novak.
    Huge hit by Adam Hascic in front of the Slovak bench.
    The play looked to be opening up for Russia, but just as the shot is fired from the left wing circle, Maxim Lazarev is called for being in the crease.
    Slovakia clear to neutral ice with a minute left on the five minute Russia powerplay.
    Save by Pajpach on a point shot by Damir Sharipzyanov. Slovakia then clear the puck from their own zone.
    Kirill Pilipenko is down on the ice and is not moving at all after being hit in open ice in the Slovak zone. He is able to get off the ice under his own steam but is looking worse for wear.
