    In a high-class match Donbass were a little more active and twice gained a two-goal lead but in power play Lokomotiv fought back and extended the match to overtime where Evgeny Razin gave the well-deserved extra point to Donbass!

Instead the hosts were able to punish the guests from Ukraine who caused several unnecessary penalties, with two late power play goals by Alexei Vasilyev to force overtime!

    Both hosts Lokomotiv Yaroslavl as guests Donbass Donetsk had a start into the season with a lot of ups and downs. Lokomotiv started with away losses against Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk (1-2), Avangard Omsk (2-5) and Barys Astana (3-5) before they beat underdogs Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg (4-0) to finish their four game road trip.

    For Donbass their four-game home stint started more successful against Slovan Bratislava (4-2), Lev Prague (3-2 OT) before they lost against CSKA Moscow (1-4) and Dinamo Riga (2-4).

    Today Lokomotiv want to use their first home match of the young season to get further out of the negative streak and are in the role as the favourites. If they can win or if Donbass surprises them, we'll see soon!
