Slovan Bratislava had a rather tough start into the season with a four-game road trip. They lost a close season opener against direct playoff competitors Donbass Donetsk (2-4) before staying without goals against Spartak Moscow (0-5) and Dinamo Minsk (0-2). In their last away game though they were able to beat league newcomers Medvescak Zagreb (4-3 OT) and gained their first two points of the young season.

Today's guests Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod had not much more reason for joy given the fact that they started with a four game home stint against Salavat Yulayev Ufa (2-3 SO), Traktor Chelyabinsk (3-4), Metallurg Magnitogorsk (5-0) and Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk (2-0) for just four points.

Slovan are in the roles of the favourites during their home opener. If Torpedo can surprise them, we'll see in a short time!
