Kazan played its previous game five days ago, while losing to SKA St. Petersburg 1:3. Previously the team had won already four consecutive games, but the streak came to an end.
Yugra, on the other hand, has won only one of its past four games. On an October 2 game versus Dinamo Minsk it lost 3:5.
A major part of Ak Bars success this season is its goaltender Konstantin Barulin, who is currently leading the whole league with an SVS of 95 %. In the same time, Shaun Heshka is among the top scoring defensemen.
The Ak Bars top scoring list is led by Alex Burmistrov with 10 (4+6) points in 13 games, while the current top scorer of Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk is lead by Vitaly Sitnikov with 8 (4+4) points in 11 games.
In the past couple of days both teams have made some roster adjustments. While Yugra released Latvian defender Guntis Galvins and signed Canadian forward Stephen Dixon, Ak Bars has acquired Stanislav Bocharov.
