    Finland played with heart and passion and kept Canada shutout for almost 50 (!) minutes but in the end the pressure and the individual class by the Canadians was just a bit too high for them! Meghan Agosta, Jayna Hefford and Rebecca Johnston scored the goals for a deserved 3-0 win after which Canada and the USA are qualified for the semifinals directly while Finland will play in the quarterfinals first.

    The Canadians destroy the last hopes for a comeback the Fins might have still had! With the most beautiful play of the match Canada scores the 3-0! Jayna Hefford dekedout two opponents inside the neutral zone and gave a well-timed pass to Marie-Philip Poulin who waited at the Finnish blue line and gave a perfect cross-pass to the left for REBECCA JOHNSTON who one-timed the puck into the left corner from short distance!

    JAYNA HEFFORD conqueres the puck inside the neutral zone, dekes out several opponents, skates towards the net coming from the right circle and beats Noora Räty from short distance into the right top corner! The Canadians have more or less decided the match within three minutes!

MEGHAN AGOSTA's powerful shot from the right circle was blocked by Noora Räty but the Canadian forward was able to get her own rebound and fired the puck into the net just below the crossbar! Brilliant goal! And what a relief for the Canadians!
