Lukko Rauma is in action in the late game today at Hamburg

We have had a beautiful goal yesterday, let´s have a beautiful goal today, as well. This is Jiri Polansky, top scorer of Ocelari Trinec, dancing in between the defense of Stavanger Oilers. Can you do better?

Many eyes will be on Bolzano today, as well. The Italian side went through turbulent summer of financial difficulties to finally assemble the squad just few days before the start of CHL campaign. Their first game in Turku ended in a heavy 0-9 defeat. Today, they will face a Swedish side Linköping in another tough game.
What a demanding weekend it has been for Eisbären Berlin. The German powerhouse played at home on Friday night against Zlin, then had to travel to Switzerland to face Fribourg the next evening. Now they can finally rest on their way back.

Red Bull Salzburg will be looking to add first points to their tally today at HV71. The Kinnarps Arena is still quiet, but faceoff is just one hour away now.

Have you wondered about CHL scoring leaders so far? Well, here is our top five at the moment:

    1. Andreas Johnsson (Frölunda) – 9 pts (2 + 7)

    4. Jiri Polansky (Trinec) – 5 pts (3 + 2)
    5. Josh Soares (Stavanger) – 5 pts (3 + 2)

Erik Forssell is also the goal scoring leader, joint with Gregory Mauldin (Fribourg). Both players have netted a hat-trick yesterday.
Nottingham Panthers and their fans are really enjoying their CHL adventure. How many tickets like this one will be used today?

Three games starts in 5 minutes:

HV71 Jönköping – Red Bull Salzburg
    Linköping HC – HC Bolzano
    Nottingham Panthers – Luleå Hockey

First goal of the day is scored by Lulea! Jan Sandstrom scores 3:19 in the game. Sandsrom fires a looping wrist shot from the left point which may have taken a deflection on the way through. Sandstrom was goalless in the 2013-14 season in the Swedish league for Lulea.
Nottingham Panthers – Lulea Hockey 0:1

Alexander Cijan scores for Salzburg in Jönköping in the 6th minute while Jakub Vrana took the lead for Linköping against Bolzano.

Vrana is considered to be one of the most promising prospects of Czech hockey. Being 18 years old, he already played on three U18 and two U20 world championships. Vrana has been drafted as 13th overall by Washington Capitals this NHL draft and spent some time in their development camp this summer, but should spent upcoming season in SEL. Vrana took his first hockey steps in Letnany, ice rink at Prague's outskirts and is the most famous product of local humble club so far.

Jyvaskyla – Kloten is a shy away from opening face off. JYP won it's CHL-debut on friday, when they bet Red Bull Salzburg 3-2. Kloten wasn't so lucky in their first CHL-match as they lost to their swedish host HV71 3-2.

Christopher Törngren scores equalizer for HV71. 20-years-old Swede tipped the puck from the sweet pass from Erik Andersson behind Salzburg's Gracnar.
HV71-Red Bull Salzburg 1:1 after first period.

Linköping HC took the 2:0 lead to Bolzano as Danish forward Nichlas Hardt. He got a pass by Taffe from behind the net and got and easy job in front of Hübl. Bolzano's goaltender stopped another 12 shots in the first period while David Rautio in home net got a mere 2 saves.

Nottingham – Lulea 1:2 after initial 20 minutes of play. Home side got a tough time defending three powerplays in the 1st period, and make use the one man advantage near the end of the period when Brandon Benedict rebounded the puck past Daniel Larsson.

TPS Turku and HC Pardubice has started and Czech team leads 1:0 after a goal by Jan Semorád.

At the same time, KalPa Kuopio – Mannheim Adler is 0:0. Both teams lost first game on Thursday. Växjö Lakers beat Mannheim 6-1 and KalPa lost Sparta Prague 5-4.

KalPa Kuopio – Adler Mannheim 1:0 after the first period. Defenceman Jusi Timonen took the wirst shot past Dennis Endras. Jusi Timonen is a younger brother of Kimmo Timonen, who plays NHL for Philadelphia Flyers.

TPS Turku – Pardubice 0:1 after first period.

Game is special for Turku's defenceman Jakub Nakladal, who has been guarding the blueline for Pardubice since being 15. He played in KHL (Ufa, Spartak Moscow and Lev Praha) for last three years and recently strengthened TPS Turku. Nakladal noted 75 caps for Czech national team.

JYP Jyväskylä – Kloten Flyers 1:0 after first period.

Kloten was the controlling team in the first period. Gerber got 6 saves while Tarkki gathered 8 saves. JYP had some really big problems in opening the game. Kloten was really energetic but couldn't capitalize in their scoring chances. Vincent Praplan, 20-years-old prodigy of Kloten, who scored twice in his first CHL game, hit the post early in the game.

Will Robert Sabolic (Sparta) or Patrick Lundh (Vaxjö) add any scoring as their respective team's leaders in Cramo Top Scorer competetion?

Jeff Taffe of Linköping scored twice in 36th and 37th minute. USA native is playing his first games on european ice since 2001 U20 world championships in Moscow. Taffe split his career between NHL and AHL and joined Linköping this summer as one of their biggest roster additions.

    Linköping – Bolzano 4:0 after 2nd period.

Will this game be remembered as murder of Panthers? Nottingham Panthers – Luleå Hockey 1:8 after second period.

Lulea tallied 6 goals in the 2nd period, Karl Fabricius is already on a hattrick, one of the goals being shorthanded. There's not a lot you can really say more after that.

There has been 9 goals in Nothingham – Lulea game so far, and just plus one more in the remaining set of today's CHL games. You can watch games in our video on demand live streaming, so don't forget to purchase a gameday pass.

    HV71 – Red Bull Salzburg 1:2 after 2nd period.

Salzburg has been better in the second period and took the lead after a powerplay goal by John Fahey. Andreas Johansson, HV71's head coach took a time-out at 25:35, but in spite of it, Red Bull has been creating other scoring chances. Erik Ersberg in the home net already recorded 25 saves after in 40 minutes. Ersberg replaced Gustaf Wesslau who has been between the pipes in HV71's first game with Kloten.

Bolzano remains the last CHL side who is scoreless in the season. Jaroslav Hübl has 27 saves in Bolzano's net, but his team-mates failed to score so far.

Pardubice managed to kill 6 minor penalties in the second period. Lack of discipline won't make coach Zdenek Venera happy, but he may be proud of his team's penalty killing skills. And we have to mention Robert Kristan who stopped 24 shots so far.

TPS – Pardubice 0:1 with 2 minutes left in the second period.

Matthias Trattnig has been sent off for charging and HV71 needed only 8 seconds to tie the game with Salzburg. Chrinstensen won the faceoff, Riderwall moved the puck to Bjorn Melin and his slapshot found his way to the net.

HV71 – Red Bull Salzburg 2:2 early in the third period.

KalPa Kuopio – Adler Mannheim 1:0 after the second period. Mannheim got a good chances late in the period as Hospelt and Agdag was close to scoring, but Kilpeläinen refused their efforts.

Växjö Lakers – Sparta Praha 1:1 after initial 20 minutes.

Prague's side took an early lead by Rolinek, but Stromwall managed to equalize as he deflected the Noah Welch's shot past Stana.

JYP Jyväskylä – Kloten Flyers 1:0 after second period.

Another powerplay goal for JYP, now Erik Perrin took the shot at the point and scores at far post. Petr Hubacek had the biggest scoring opportunity for JYP in the remainder of the second period, but Martin Gerber was on his place then.

38 years old Perrin, who has been born in Laval, Quebec, serves as JYP captain for third season. He was the man who hoisted the European Trophy after JYP won it last year..

Foxes from South Tyrol will be scoreless even after their second CHL appearance. Bolzano allowed Linköping 48 shots during the game, 43 of them was been stopped by Jaroslav Hübl, but it could not have been enough. Linköping HC takes the lead in the Group F with 6 points.

Linköping HC – HC Bolzano 5:0 final score.

It's 3:3 after Ben Walter scores for Salzburg.

55:34 on the clock and Salzburg is having a time out, as HV71's is penalized, 2 minutes for Jämtin.

And Salzburg scores! Great game in Kinnarps arena tonight. Ben Walter could be a hero of the day for Red Bull as he needed just 14 seconds of the powerplay to make it 3:4. Walter took a succesfull rebound of Zdenek Kutlak's shot. 3 minutes to go in the third.

We have double figures on the board for the first time in the Champions Hockey League. Lennart Petrell's goal rounded the score to 1:10 in the Nottingham – Lulea game.

It was close in the first period, as a Brandon Benedict goal brought the Panthers to within one goal after the opening period. However, Lulea scored six times in the second period to blow their British opponents away. Karl Fabricius scored a hattrick, while Cam Abbott, Stephen Dixon and Lennart Petrell had three points each. Lulea top Group K with two wins out of two.

3:1 for Sparta in Växjö. Kumstat scored the second goal of his team after a good work in the traffic and had a huge contribution on third. His aggressive forechecking created the pressure in the offensive zone and Lukas Pech could use the good situation to make it 3:1 for Sparta. But nothing decided yet, still at least 30 minutes to play and Växjö had a four goals in the third period in their first game with Mannheim.

Speaking of Mannheim, they pulled the goalie for the last minute in Kuopio. Still 1:0 for KalPa.

JYP Jyväskylä – Kloten Flyers 2:0 final score.

Tuomas Tarkki is another goalie with shutout tonight. Maenpää and Perrin scored for JYP who leads the group I with two wins out of 2 games.

    Växjö – Sparta 1:3 after 2nd period.

PSG Zlin – Djurgarden already after the scoreless 1st period. Curious how it looks when team travels to CHL game? Watch this youtube video shot by players of Djurgarden during their long way to Zlin.

We have just received a message from CHL disciplinary sport board that Kristoffer Mohr of Sonderjyske Vojens has received supplementary disciplinary action for an incident that occurred Saturday night in Champions Hockey League action. As a result, he will miss four games.

Read more and watch the incident here.

Hamburg – Lukko Rauma, last entry of today's game schedule, has started.

On Friday, Hamburg fell 4-1 on home ice to Lulea hockey, while Lukko Rauma won 4-2 in Nottingham. Hamburg's goal as scored by Adam Mitchell, who will wear the Top Scorer jersey today. For Lukko it will be Aaron Gagnon, who also scored a goal. Lukko Rauma is in their gold jerseys while the Freezers are playing in their navy blue.

Hamburg's Philippe Dupuis, who received a match penalty in Friday's game, has had the automatic one-game suspension rescinded by the CHL's Disciplinary Committee and will not be able to play in this game.

Goal for Växjö early in the third period. Alexander Johansson found the way to the net from the left wing after a feed by Tommi Kalio. Johansson scored twice in the first Lakers' game and now also successful scorer for his team. Will 3446 fans see equalizer from home side?

Växjö Lakers – Sparta Praha 2:3 in 46th minute.

PSG Zlin – Djurgarden 0:1 in the second perod.

Petr Leska has been sent off for hooking and Sebastian Laurizen's shot found its way through the traffic. Libor Kasik saw it in the very last moment and did not manage to stop the puck.

1:1 in Zlin. Tomas Valenta got a pass to the blue line and his slap shot sent the puck right between the goaltender's legs.

There's a interesting connection of Zlin and Sven Tumba Johansson, Swedish legend, who spent his whole career Djurgardens IF. Back in 1963, he was visiting Czechoslovakia because of golf and did play a friendly game for TJ Gottwaldov (what was a then name of PSG Zlin).

Sell-out crowd (Tumba was a international star at that time, best forward of 1962 world championships) saw a home team victory 5:3 with Motorlet. After the game, Tumba returned to Sweden.

58:43 on the clock in Växjö, but Sparta controls the puck while playing two man advantage powerplay. It seems done here.

Växjö Lakers – Sparta Praha 2:5 final score.

5 seconds before the final whistle, Michal Barinka scores in 5-3 powerplay. Lukas Pech had an assist on this goal so both Pech and Kumstat are with 4 points today and their line with Rolinek basically gets a full credit for Sparta's victory.

Sparta is travelling home with 5 points from two road games which is a great start for Prague's team as Sparta leads the group G.

Both teams will meet again in two weeks in Prague.

Second period started in Hamburg and Mikko Kousa scores for Lukko Rauma – 0:1.

Montreal-born Benot Laporte, head coach of Hamburg Freezers, moved to Europe after playing junior hockey in Canada and represented France in the 90s on various world championships.

After retiring, he coached in France, Italy, Switzerland and eventually Germany. Hamburg Freezers won the regular season in 2013–14 DEL, but lost semifinals to ERC Ingolstadt in 6 games.

Zlin was close to his 3rd goal with a good chance by Köhler. Three minutes left in the third, Djurgarden takes time-out. Score still 2:1 for Zlin.

Jiri Marusak, PSG Zlin defenceman, did play for Djurgarden in 2006-07 and 2007-08 campaings. He meets his then team-mate Daniel Fernholm in current DIF roster.

58:10, DIF with an extra skater with Armalis pulled out.

Now we have only one game left. Hamburg Freezers – Lukko Rauma 0:1 after the second period.

"A fairly even match to this point has Lukko up 1-0 after two periods of play. Neither team has had more than a handful of chances at this point and although Lukko has been showing a bit more in the puck-possession department, the Freezers have been responsible for most of the game's big checks" – writes our reporter in his conclusion after 40 minutes of play from O2 world in Hamburg.

Teemu Nurmi tops up the score for Lukko Rauma after 39 seconds of the third period.

Hamburg Freezers – Lukko Rauma 0:2.

And Jone Virtanen makes it 3:0 for Lukko in the powerplay. More than 5000 fans in O2 world knows, that their team will be most probably without any point outcome from this game.

Hamburg Freezers – Lukko Rauma 0:3 final score.

Kousa, Nurmi and Virtanen scores for Finnish side. The first period was very even and concluded 0-0, but after that there was little the Freezers could do to create any sustained attack and seriously place Lukko under pressure. Lukko on the other hand was able to create some better opportunities and capitalize on the 3 of them. The 2nd goal appears to have been back breaker – it wasn't very clear that the goal was even scored.

Lukko Rama and Lulea Hockey are now with 6 points on top of the Group K standings, Hamburg and Nottingham without a single point. (20:11:25)
