Tappara and Třinec go head to head on Tuesday in their last game in the group phase. Třinec is the current leader in the Group E and Tappara is trailing behind them with a one-point-difference. Both teams have an excellent chance to proceed to the playoffs and both could secure their spot there with a win.

The two teams head into the game from very different situations.

Třinec leads the Czech Extraliga after nine games and they have only lost two games in the whole season. Their best scorer in Extraliga at the moment is Zbyněk Irgl and Vladimír Roth is the leading defenseman. Šimon Hrubec has been their number one goalkeeper and he leads the goalies' statistics in the whole league.

Meanwhile in CHL, Třinec's top scorer has been Jiri Polansky while Marek Troncinsky has been the leading defenceman. Hrubec has held the main responsibility in the goalkeeper-department.

Tappara hasn't had the same kind of success in the Finnish Liiga. They are only twelth in the team standings which isn't exactly the thing that the team has been hoping for. The new head coach Jussi Tapola will have a small mountain to climb in order to get things rolling for Tappara again.

Tappara's leading scorer in Liiga has been Pekka Jormakka while Teemu Aalto has been the leading defender. Juha Metsola has played all of Tappara's 10 games and it is likely that he will get some rest in CHL-games. That would mean that either Aaro Peltonen or Dominik Hrachovina would play. Hrachovina is quite unlikely as he is on a loan in Mestis-team LeKi.

In CHL Tappara's leading scorer has been David Kolomatis who is the leading defenseman also. Metsola has been the leading goalkeeper in CHL too but Hrachovina has also played one game. Would it be Peltonen's turn now?

In any case, Tuesday's game will be very interesting and important for both teams. The main question is that will Třinec be able to take advantage of Tappara's weak streak or will Tappara be able to step up its game. The result can be seen on Tuesday.
