The Swiss players have already met an opponent from the Czech Republic as they played HC Pardubice in the group stage. They won both games against them and they also beat Farjestad Karlstad once, which gave the team 10 points and 1st place at group E. Although Davos lost game 1 in the playoffs to IFK Helsinki, they improved, won the second one and reached the 1/8 Finals.

The White Tigers got two wins against HK Nitra, but lost twice to Skelleftea AIK in the group stage. 6 points in total were OK for Liberec and the team reached the 2nd place at group D. Further, they met Linkoping HC in the round of 32 and won both of the games. Thanks to their victories they qualified for the 1/8 Finals.
