Shots on goal: Latvia 6 (26) – France 15 (30)
Huge turnover inside the French third! Yohann Auvitu lost the puck against Janis Sprukts while trying to get the puck out of the defensive zone nad Sprukts then gave a perfect pass back to the slot from where LAURIS DARZINS scored the decision for Latvia!
Assisted by Janis Sprukts.
The referees were asked to review their decision once more and this time they decided to give a good goal! JULIEN DESROSIERS is the goal scorer in power play for France! Strange situation you don't see that often.
Assisted by Yorick Treille and Kevin Hecquefeuille.
Shots on goal: Latvia 7 (20) – France 5 (15)
JANIS SPRUKTS won the puck inside the neutral zone and was all alone in a break away in which he stayed the winner against Huet with a fast shot into the right corner! 2-0 for Latvia!
Assisted by Martins Cipulis.
Shots on goal: Latvia 13 – France 10
The Latvians score the lead early with their first man advantage! A shot from the blue line looked rather harmless but Huet allowed a rebound that was used by MARTINS CIPULIS to get the puck into the wide open net!
Assisted by Janis Sprukts and Ralfs Freibergs.

Latvia played a rather disappointing tournament so far but with a three point win against France today and in the case of a loss by the Austrians later this evening against the favourites from Russia, they already could save themselves.
On the other side France could improve their situation significantly in the fight for the 4th spot that would give entry to the playoff quatertfinals. At the moment they have one game less played then competitors Germany and Slovakia and they gained one point less.
