    With a spectacular performance Slovakia beat today very harmless Americans with 4-1 and secured the last quarterfinal spot in the Helsinki group. The afternoon game between Germany and France now is without meaning as Germany only can also get to 10 points but lost the direct match with Slovakia (2-3).

    For the Americans it's bitter as they had the big opportunity to win the group and now easily could become third and would have to play against Russia in the quarterfinals now.
